    African defender leaving Eastlands

    Manchester City fans were left devastated by the news that Kolo Toure will be leaving the Etihad Stadium this summer. The Ivorian defender confirmed to Sky Sports that he doesn’t envisage being at the club next season, ’in two months nothing his come from the club and I am thinking about my future definitely.’ The loss of Toure’s footballing abilities may not be of primary concern to fans of the Manchester club, their overwhelming worry may lie in the redundant future of the ’Kolo, Kolo, Yaya, Yaya’ chant.

    Toffees front up Manchester City for Leeds youngster 

    Everton and Manchester City are set to battle it out for the signing of highly rated Leeds youngster Sam Byram. The Sun suggests that David Moyes is ready to go head to head with Roberto Mancini, having earmarked the 19-year-old as a priority in this upcoming transfer window. It is imagined that the Scot would have to utilise the promise of first team football as bait in any negotiations, as the Merseyside outfit quite frankly can’t compete with City in economic stakes.

    Celtic re-enter pursuit for Irish striker  

    Celtic are set to renew attempts to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle. The Evening Times state that Neil Lennon will move to sign the Irish international in the summer months. The Glasgow club tried to sign Doyle in January but were knocked back by the midlands club, who face a tense battle against a consecutive relegation to NPower League One.

    Bolton skipper set for MLS

    Sky Sports have reported that Bolton captain Kevin Davies has been discussing a potential move to Major League Soccer (MLS). The soon to be departed striker is said to have been in talks with Canadian outfit Toronto FC, now managed by former Blackburn, Tottenham and QPR defender Ryan Nelsen. Toronto are struggling in the early stages of the MLS Eastern Conference, with just 7 points from 7 matches.

    United to tap into Sporting links

    Newly crowned Premier League Champions Manchester United will attempt to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Bruma this summer. Sir Alex Ferguson has never been one to rest on his laurels, with The Daily Mirror claiming that United will attempt to sign the highly rated forward in this summer’s transfer window in a cut price £3million deal. Lisbon’s financial issues have been well documented and the club is in no apparent position to hold Ferguson to ransom.

    Monaco eye move for latest Arsenal contract rebel

    Monaco’s billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev will move to sign Bacary Sagna, once their impending promotion to Ligue 1 has been finalised.  According to The Daily Mail, the Principality side will attempt to sign the Arsenal right back over the summer months. The signing of the Sagna would act as a statement of intent from the club, who have desires on competing with mega rich Paris Saint Germain in the not so distant future.

    African hero considers return to European shores

    Asamoah Gyan has alerted clubs across Europe by indicating that he craves a move back to the continent this summer. Sky Sports report that the Al Ain striker is beginning to grow disillusioned with the standard of football in the United Arab Emirates. Gyan is quoted as saying, ‘If there is a possibility to return to a very good European club then of course I would take the opportunity. It would be very exciting to score goals again in a European league.’
