Classy Arsenal may be top of the league, but is this their year?

Following yesterday's 4-1 win over Norwich, Arsenal sit atop the Premier League table today after eight games.

Jack Wilshere: Goal of the Week (Video)

It is a sign of the times that within seconds of Jack Wilshere's excellent opener for Arsenal today there was already a video of the goal on the internet.

    Gnabry vs Swansea (video)

My final piece and final match compilation is of someone different to Mesut Ozil. Gnabry is young, very young in fact, and to be thrown into the deep end at such a young age will be very daunting for the player. That is the reason why a few of his performances have been somewhat lacking in composure.

    Mesut Ozil vs Napoli (video)

I am deciding to do all three of my video blogs today on match compilations. Although they have all featured Mesut Ozil so far, he just happens to be the one I have found after a little bit of digging and scrolling.

    Mesut Ozil vs WBA (video)

I do love a good match compilation. No matter who it is or how long it may be, match compilations are my favourite things to watch on YouTube. As I am part of the massive socially active world we call Twitter, I often come across videos that the people I follow have made or shared so that they somehow appear on my timeline. Regardless of all this, I am often treated to seeing a whole variety of videos. Some well made, some not so much.

Why my World Cup support lies with the German national team

I'm a fan of good football, exciting young talent, the promotion of discipline and efficiency in the team and finally that a team is a joy to watch. Now, before I get sent a volley of abuse about betrayal to England, my home country after all, it will serve you well to know that I have German ancestors that don't date that far back. So while some part of me is actually German, the main reason why I support Germany is for the reasons I listed in the first sentence.

Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil - match made in heaven for Arsenal?

Arsenal fans don't usually have a lot to cheer about after an international break, except from the fact that their beloved club returns to action. International breaks usually mean, injuries, injuries and even more injuries. Perhaps broken up by the occasional fatigue factor when players travel as far as the South Americas. Santi Cazorla, for example, often returns from some exotic location or island floating somewhere far away from the comfort of Europe and he also doesn't return until it's too late.

5 of the best attacking midfielders in Europe

Following on from my previous post, I have decided to pick out my top 10 attacking midfielders from around Europe as it is a position that intrigues me so much. Now, being an attacking midfielder isn't as easy as people think. There's more to it than just receiving the ball and passing it. You must be able to spot the passes and pick the right runs made by your team mates, but you also have to be able to make them passes. That means judging how hard you have to pass it, long or short pass, which players you have to split apart in order for the ball to reach it's target, if it needs any curl or backspin and where your next move is after you've passed the ball. Anyway, down to business.

Why is the Number 10 role so important?

This is actually quite a new phenomenon, or at least it's importance is new. In the past the 'number 10' has usually been the secondary striker, or in more simple terms, the player that plays behind the striker. Dennis Bergkamp was a famous 'number 10' and one of the best. Henry was the player that played beyond him with Dennis instigating most attacks. However, these 'number 10's' could also play as the main striker if needs be. In this day and age, the 'number 10' role is often played by the attacking midfielder. So a few current examples are Mesut Ozil, Juan Mata and David Silva. They will still instigate most attacks but will not be a replacement striker.

5 players that can inspire Arsenal to glory this season

Arsenal and winning trophies has been a love story put on hold for too long. They've gone from having the confidence and the mindset to win any trophy they can compete in to blind optimism in recent years. They've come close on a couple of occasions though. Champions League final in 2006 and that League Cup final spring to mind but they haven't quite been able to get past the finishing line. Mesut Ozil's arrival has renewed faith in the fans that they can actually win something this season. Which is why the first player on my list is, without a doubt, Mesut Ozil.

5 Arsenal youth players that could make the step up

Arsene Wenger has often been accused of breathing new life into the team too often and that he buys too many young players when what Arsenal really need is a good experienced player. This season, however, is different.

Which German Players Should Arsenal Be Looking To Sign?

With the arrival of Mesut Özil, the north Londoners have added one to their five German players; Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker, and youngsters Gedion Zelalem, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Eisfeld. Some reports have mentioned lately that the club is interested in adding Marco Reus, Ilkay Gündogan and Lars Bender. The French reign at Arsenal has not yet come to an end, but will the Germans come into the picture and become vital influencers on the English club?

Is Aaron Ramsey finally about to fulfil his potential?

On the 13th of July, young Welshman Aaron Ramsey joined Arsenal in a move worth £4.8 million. He had become the youngest Cardiff City player to play a league game for the Bluebirds and impressed enough during the 2006-2007 season to earn a place in the big time.

A closer look at Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus

Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus is one of the five players I mentioned yesterday in regards to who Arsenal should be targeting in January and I discussed why his transfer to Arsenal wouldn't be as ridiculous as some people make out it would be. A quick summary for those who didn't read it yesterday. Tomas Rosicky is his idol, he supports Arsenal, he speaks very highly of Jack Wilshere, the arrival of Mesut Ozil and the German influence on the team in general.

Just how good is Aaron Ramsey right now? Form of his life-good is how much, and given that Arsenal have just splashed £40m + on Mesut Ozil, it is a credit to the young Welshman that he is putting in match winning performance after match winning performance. Anyway, through this list I will highlight to you exactly why the young midfielder garners your respect and gaze for the remainder of the season.
