Arsenal Can Hold Heads High Despite Champions League Exit

There was a bit of inevitability about Tuesday night's proceedings at the Allianz Arena in the Second round second leg tie between European champions Bayern Munich and Arsenal. Before the game bookies had Arsenal 20/1 to go through and Bayern were a whopping 100/20 on to progress. It was quite a cagey affair as Bayern tried to avoid a repeat of their loss to Arsenal in the same stage of last season's Champions League campaign.

Scapegoat: Why Mesut Ozil Stick Is An Unnecessary Mask For Arsenal's Poor Form

On Saturday we witnessed another poor away performance in a must win game from Arsene Wenger's men, who were found wanting in an away trip to Stoke City. Despite the result raising some eyebrows, the talk is still of Germany International Mesut Ozil, with former Arsenal midfielder Paul Davis, as he has claimed the former Real Madrid man is suffering with the pace and demands of the Premier League. If this is true, it is understandable that without a winter break (which he is used to), Ozil also did not have an adequate pre-season in Spain, which would also go some way to explaining his recent form.

21 Goals In 25 Games: Why This Striker Is Perfect For Arsenal

Diego Costa is very highly rated Brazilian-born, Spanish international who is apparently on the list of many Premier League clubs. Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea to name a few, but I think he would fit in best at Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil Will Flourish On The Back Of Criticism - Here's Why

It's hard for a player that cost a huge amount of money to play consistently well in a different league, with different players, in a different system and with the media constantly on his case. The German has faced criticism a lot this season and in big chunks at varied stages in the season. As a result, people are questioning whether Ozil was worth the £42.5 million price tag.

Player Report: Arsenal Eye £10 million Striker, But What Could He Offer The Gunners?

It is being reported in the Metro that Michy Batshuayi is on Arsene Wenger’s radar for next season and Wenger is willing to spend £10 million on the Belgian Striker who has 35 goals in 83 appearances for Standard Liege. The forward has apparently been scouted by the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan to just name a few but Liege are yet to enter into negotiations with any club regarding his future.

Why Ozil Must Pull His Socks Up Against Bayern This Evening

The signing of Mesut Ozil in the summer was one that inspired Arsenal fans. Arsene Wenger landed one of the top playmakers in Europe and it made people believe that they were once against title contenders. The fans believed, the squad seemed to believe and most importantly the rest of the Premier League believed and ultimately started to shut down against them.

Why Arsenal Should Drop Mesut Ozil For Upcoming Games

When Mesut Ozil arrived at Arsenal in the summer, I, as an Arsenal fan, was over the moon. Having admired him from afar for so long, the Germany international was now at my club, where I got to watch him live, for my club, every two weeks

Has Ozil Been Arsenal's Worst Midfielder Of Late? Former Gunner Say Yes, I Say No

When Arsene Wenger signed Mesut Ozil in the summer he would've expected the high level of performances that we have seen from him so far. The Germany international has made a staggering 48 key passes so far in his 16 Premier League games, claiming seven assists, and has also scored four league goals. In the Champions League he has made another 16 in six games and scored once, so it would be seem outrageous that someone would suggest he has been Arsenal's worst midfielder recently, wouldn't it?

5 Signs That Arsenal Are The Real Deal This Season - Part 1

In my last article I explained how the media set up Arsenal's season in their own minds and that they didn't expect much to happen. Exit from the Champions League, struggle early but a late pick up in form lands them in the Champions League but the minimal squad depth made some journalists jump to conclusions that the Gunners may not even make the Champions League next season. At the moment, they are defying the odds and are having a great season. But what's important to know is that this is no fluke - Arsene Wenger has found a tactic, a team, and a balance that can help Arsenal win the league. Here are five reasons why I think Arsenal can win the league. Hindsight will tell me not to do this just in case, but this is my opinion now and it's not likely to change soon.

5 Players Who Could Soon Arrive At The Emirates Stadium

Arsenal always have a number of players linked with them every day of the year. Because of the huge differences in the players they buy in terms of age and what league they are in, there are often plenty of rumours linking them with cheap Ligue 2 players, for example. However, after signing Mesut Ozil, they're now being linked with big players, which has definitely been the case this past week.

Defending Mesut Ozil: Why Critics Should Get Off The Arsenal Playmaker's Back

Football fans can be so, so fickle. Following Arsenal's 2-0 win over Marseille in the Champions League on Tuesday night, many were critical of Mesut Ozil's first half performance in which he missed a penalty (a German missing a penalty?).
