4 German youngsters Premier League clubs should consider

Germany is well known for being able to produce world class talent for the European elite to fight over from a young age. German players are arriving on our shores in large numbers and are seemingly here to stay, with Mesut Ozil being the latest high profile German to make the switch to England. He followed in the footsteps of Andre Schurrle, Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker, Thomas Eisfeld, Serge Gnabry, Marko Marin, Sascha Riether, Lewis Holtby, Robert Huth and many more that have graced our pitches in the past. Germany are famous for producing dedicated, passionate, energetic, efficient and extremely talented players that some clubs have spotted and are now forming a core of players in this country. Why my World Cup support lies with the German national team

I'm a fan of good football, exciting young talent, the promotion of discipline and efficiency in the team and finally that a team is a joy to watch. Now, before I get sent a volley of abuse about betrayal to England, my home country after all, it will serve you well to know that I have German ancestors that don't date that far back. So while some part of me is actually German, the main reason why I support Germany is for the reasons I listed in the first sentence.

Is the use of a double pivot in midfield crucial to the modern game?

A lot has been said about the modern game. Some people welcome the concept, whereas others completely disagree and ridicule the idea. No matter what anyone says, football is definitely changing and whether people decide to accept it or not is another problem entirely. Alas, the subject of my piece does intertwine with the idea but rather the tactical side of things more than the politics.

Thiago sale is a mistake (Video)

Bayern Munich's signing of midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona has left many people questioning what the Spanish club is up to. The 22-year-old, who has already played a fair amount of first team football at the Camp Nou over the past few seasons, was apparently unhappy at not being assured of regular first team action. No doubt that Pep Guardiola has had an important influence on this transfer and with a £22m deal sealing the move, it would appear that he will line-up alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger in their midfield next season. Why then were Barcelona unable to convince him to stay?

A closer look at Bayern Munich's unsung hero (Video)

Bayern Munich have had a truly wonderful season and become the first ever German side to do the treble and only the seventh in European football to achieve such a feat. They wrapped up the league title in some style, with many matches to spare such was their points lead over Borussia Dortmund, and then beat their fierce rivals at Wembley courtesy of a last minute Arjen Robben goal to lift the Champions League trophy. The league cup was the cherry on top of the cake and Jupp Heynckes has signed off his management of the club in style. However, let's have a look at one of the unsung heroes that has been so pivotal to all this success.

    Koscielny wanted by Europe's best?

If you are possibly the best club in the world you would surely be setting your sights higher than Laurent Koscielny if you wanted a new central defender, however The Metro are reporting that the Arsenal man is a target for the German Champions Bayern Munich. What is even further baffling by this story is that it is being indicated that Arsenal will rebuff the reported bid of around £19 million.

Is this the end of Spanish dominance?

As soon as the final whistle went at the Allianz Arena and Bayern Munich began celebrating their emphatic 4-0 win over Barcelona, the knives were already being sharpened and journalists were declaring that we were witnessing the end of an era. Spanish football, both at national and international level, has been leading the way over the last five years and 'tiki taka' had become a recognised style of play idolised by the rest of the football world. Could one game change all the believers into thinking that German football was now number one?

Are Bayern Munich becoming a Celtic of the Bundesliga? (VIDEO)

They have been and are still regarded as a European supreme in club football. Bayern Munich year in year out are seen as one of the best teams in Europe. In my eyes in the Champions League Bayern Munich are as much of a threat to English teams as Barcelona and Real Madrid are.
