Transfer Window Officially Opens As Players Continue To Shine In Brazil - Why Colombian Could Be The Man For Manchester United

The World Cup has long been a stage for players to make a name for themselves and sometimes earn a career-defining move.  This year’s edition could well be about to do that for one Colombian star.

Arteta Linked With La Liga Move - Why Arsenal Should Keep Hold Of The Spanish Midfielder

Now that the dust has settled on the Bacary Sagna saga, there hasn't been much big news in terms of outgoings at Arsenal. Lukasz Fabianski has left for Swansea and rarely used forwards Nicklas Bendtner and Park Chu-Young are set to be released by the club. Apart from such fringe players, fans of the Gunners have not really had to worry about any departures from the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United Sign Herrera - Why The Midfielder Needs To Adapt Quickly

A lack of quality in the middle of the park has long been a concern at Manchester United, but with the signing of Ander Herrera have they finally found a solution to the midfield crisis at Old Trafford? Herrera has yet to establish himself as a top star in European football, but the 24-year-old’s form over the second half of the season, as well as notable performances against both Real Madrid and Barcelona, put his name firmly on United’s radar.

Red Devils Eye Vermaelen - Why Manchester United Can Do Better Than The Arsenal Man

With news coming through of another transfer blow to Manchester United in the form of a rejected offer for Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera, it seems as though the Red Devils can't find a transfer avenue to pursue. However, it hasn't deterred their search for other players to bring in.

Manchester United Favourites To Sign Ander Herrera And Koke, But Does Moyes Need Them?

Despite Manchester United already splashing the cash on Juan Mata this month in what was their record transfer deal, Sky Bet have priced the Red Devils as favourites to sign both Koke, who is currently on the books of Atletico Madrid, and Ander Herrera who plies his trade for Athletic Bilbao. But do the Old Trafford outfit need the midfield pair?

Real Betis - A Look Back At Their 2012/2013 Campaign

As I had a quick preview of next season for Real Betis in my piece on Thursday, I thought it would be fitting to look back upon what was the 2012/2013 campaign which has been heavily talked about by fans in Spain. Their success last season was extra special for them because back in the 2010/2011 season they won promotion from the Segunda division. Fast forward two seasons they are now in the Europa League group stages. Amazing achievement. This video looks back upon the wonderful season and the players individually.

What Sort Of Season Will Real Betis Have?

It's fair to say that Real Betis have had an incredibly busy summer so far. They've plucked free agents from around the world and picked up players on very cheap deals. In fact, the small £5 million they've spent has seen a massive 13 players in total come into the club. However, they have had to replace 17 players that have either been sold, loaned or returned to their parent club - a total of 30 changes in personnel. An incredible figure, and as an Arsenal fan whose club have done very little in terms of incomings, I have been kept entertained by the business of Betis.

Who Will Win Serie A This Season?

This weekend saw the return of Serie A, so I thought that I would take a look at the teams likely to challenge for the title, and see whether anyone can knock Juventus off the top spot that has been theirs for several years now.

Javi Martinez - The Engine In The Bayern Munich Team

Yesterday's article on my top 10 favourite players in world football is the inspiration behind my three video blogs. As I've probably said too much about Aaron Ramsey (I can't help it really), I will choose three other players from my list and I'll start with Javi Martinez.

Thursday night, Channel Five: a case for the Europa League

As I watched a very entertaining game between Liverpool and Udinese in the Europa League last week, I realised it was fourth game of the competition I was watching already this season. For all the jesting that the competition is a 'poor man's Champions League' it throws up some brilliant fixtures and gives us a chance to watch teams and players we wouldn't normally get to see if you're not an avid follower of the other European leagues.
