Why This Arsenal Loanee Could Be Key For Wenger Next Season

Joel Campbell has been on loan from Arsenal ever since he arrived in the summer of 2011 due to work permit issues. This has led to stints at FC Lorient, Real Betis and his current club, Olympiakos. According to the Mirror, the Costa Rican star has declared that he wants to prove himself in the Premier League before he moves anywhere as he feels he has a great chance of success.

La Liga Winger Welcomes Arsenal Interest, But What Could He Offer The Gunners?

Real Betis are currently in a slump of form in the Spanish top tier - they are now without a win in seven games and have lost six of those - and they could now be losing one of their starlets to the Premier League, as 19-year-old Alvaro Vadillo is being linked -  in an exclusive report by IBTimes - to a move to Arsenal.

5 Defenders Who Could Sort West Ham Out

West Ham are in a rut at the moment. Just one place outside the relegation zone with ten points, the only thing keeping them out is their goal difference, which is better than Fulham's. Without a win since the start of October, without a point since the start of November, shipping nine goals since their last victory against Tottenham and only scoring two, it is a real sorry state of affairs for the East London club. On paper, they have a good team, but injuries, form and abilities of some players have severely hindered them in this campaign. Because of their relatively dry spell in front of goal, you'd expect me to create a list of strikers that Sam Allardyce could sign but, because I've already covered it, why not develop a list for their other problem area: defence. Who could come in and plug the gap that Winston Reid looks like he'll be leaving through injury?:

5 Players Who Could Keep Crystal Palace In The Premier League

Crystal Palace are a side in deep trouble because of a very poor start to the season. They sit at the bottom of the table on just four points, with said points coming from of a victory against Sunderland early in the campaign and a draw against Everton in their last fixture before the international break. Added to that, they've scored just six goals and have conceded 21, which says a lot about who they need to beat the drop. If it isn't obvious, then Palace need a good striker that has a history of scoring goals as well as a defender that can bring organisation and leadership. With a run of four games coming up against other struggling sides, they need to pick up points if they're to stand any chance of survival. Here's my list:

5 La Liga players Premier League clubs should look at

La Liga is often rich with players that perhaps the common football fan hasn't heard of but could make a massive impact in the Premier League should they choose to move. I'm picking players which some of you may not have heard of because, as with the case of Michu, it's important for us and clubs to look beyond the big three Spanish sides. This enables managers to find players that will benefit their club without having to break the bank to get them. The players I'm going to talk about have been very good this season for their respective clubs and have consistently churned out impressive performances.

Real Betis - A Look Back At Their 2012/2013 Campaign

As I had a quick preview of next season for Real Betis in my piece on Thursday, I thought it would be fitting to look back upon what was the 2012/2013 campaign which has been heavily talked about by fans in Spain. Their success last season was extra special for them because back in the 2010/2011 season they won promotion from the Segunda division. Fast forward two seasons they are now in the Europa League group stages. Amazing achievement. This video looks back upon the wonderful season and the players individually.

What Sort Of Season Will Real Betis Have?

It's fair to say that Real Betis have had an incredibly busy summer so far. They've plucked free agents from around the world and picked up players on very cheap deals. In fact, the small £5 million they've spent has seen a massive 13 players in total come into the club. However, they have had to replace 17 players that have either been sold, loaned or returned to their parent club - a total of 30 changes in personnel. An incredible figure, and as an Arsenal fan whose club have done very little in terms of incomings, I have been kept entertained by the business of Betis.

Are Barcelona Back To Their Best?

The opening day of La Liga saw Real Madrid struggle in their match against Betis and left it late to secure a 2-1 victory. Whilst there is clearly still work for Carlo Ancelotti to do to get the team playing as he would like, their fierce rivals were also beginning the season under new management and they had a completely different experience.

Do you remember?... Martin Palermo (Video)

You may remember him as being the man that famously missed three penalties in a Copa America game against Colombia in 1999, or as the oldest Argentine player to score at a World Cup when he poked home against Greece in South Africa 2010. You may remember him for his dyed blonde hair and his extraordinary career at Boca Juniors, or as the unlucky player that broke his leg whilst celebrating a goal for Villarreal. However you remember him, there is no doubt that he was a fantastic striker and will always be fondly remembered for a career that rarely had a dull moment.

    Barcelona at a Crossroads

By all accounts, on Saturday Barcelona tore through Osasuna, spanking the Pamplona side 8-0. While this may have added flames to the fire that is the non-competitive nature of La Liga, it also added to the thought that this Barcelona side is one of the best that the world has ever seen. But while everything on the pitch seems as rosy as ever, off the pitch the club appears to be at a crossroads.
