Liverpool MUST Give On Loan Forward A Chance Next Season - Here's Why

Sunderland's on-loan striker Fabio Borini has recently claimed he is ready to play for a big team, such as parent club Liverpool. After stepping up for the Black Cats on several occasions, the Italian has scored crucial match winners against the likes of Manchester United in the Capital One Cup semi final, and arch rivals Newcastle in the Tyne-Wear derby. Also recently scoring the opener in Sunderland's Capital One Cup final loss to Manchester City, Borini claimed "That means I am made for a big team." The 22-year old returns to Anfield at the end of the season and I believe he should be given another chance in a red shirt.

Dominated: How Chelsea Stifled Yaya Toure In Their 1-0 Win

Having won their first 11 home games of the Premier League season and scored a truck-load of goals, Manchester City were rightly confident that they could fend off a Chelsea side with next to no bite in their frontline.

Hull City - A Class Below The Rest?

It’s hard for many to argue the toss for the Tigers survival hopes this campaign. A comprehensive 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday was their first match in the top flight for three years, and a lot has changed since then. Not least the increased amount of cash available to clubs, notably from sides hoping to cling onto their Premier League status.

The forgotten Brazilian trying to shine (video)

Last night saw Brazil once again show what they can do as they pushed aside Mexico with some ease in their second game of the Confederations cup. One player that many may have been surprised to see on the score sheet again though is former Everton and Manchester City man Jo.

Has Stuart Pearce set himself up for a fall?

Stuart Pearce, as a manager, very much landed on his feet with the England Under-21 gig. His time at Man City is remembered as a failure, with his final season only bringing 10 goals from 19 home games. So how did he get his current job, and will he be continuing past the European Championships, as he wishes?

Can Pellegrini bring his Euro magic to Manchester City? (video)

Manuel Pellegrini is seemingly days away from being announced as Man City’s new manager, after a long and protracted saga, in which Roberto Mancini has already been the victim. In City’s world of heightened expectations, coming only second in the league was certainly a disappointment, but Mancini’s continued Champions league failure was a key factor in his departure. Can Pellegrini give the Mancunians a debut knock-out stage appearance?

Potential Everton boss Roberto Martinez - the player (video)

Roberto Martinez, despite Wigan’s relegation, has become one of the country’s most eligible managerial bachelors, thanks in no small part to an FA Cup win over the riches of Manchester City. However, it wasn’t long ago that the 39-year-old was highly-regarded for his skills on the pitch.

A detailed look at what would have happened to Spurs if Gareth Bale had left last summer

One debate that has reached almost clichéd proportions in recent months is the characterisation of Tottenham as a one-man team – that one man, of course, being Gareth Bale. Spurs tasted the ultimate disappointment on the last day of the season, being beaten to fourth place by Arsenal, but it was only Bale’s last minute winner against Sunderland that left Arsenal needing those three points at Newcastle. So how much lower than fifth would they have finished without Gareth Bale’s 26 goals?

Where would the Premier League have been without Fergie's Manchester United?

It’s fair to say that life after Sir Alex Ferguson will be the main storyline of next season’s Premier League soap opera. Many look to him as the glue that has held Man United’s two-decade dominance together. In that spirit, in true MOTD2-style, let’s take a look at what the Premier League’s top positions would have looked like without the Hair Dryer.

Fictional wonderkids or the real deal - defenders

The Football Manager gaming franchise has been one of the most time-consuming things to invade the lives of the average man (and occasional woman) since, well, football itself. Every season the scramble gets underway to sign the 'wonderkids' each version throws up. But how accurate was Football Manager 2013? it would be harsh to expect potential to be fulfilled immediately, just like in the video game, but let's have a look at the seasons of Premier League defenders bestowed with the tag.
