Why Real Madrid is the right choice for Isco (video)

It was announced today that the young and talented Malaga winger Isco has chosen to join Real Madrid despite being a target of Manchester City. It was believed the former Premier League champions were the favourites to sign the Spaniard with new manager Manuel Pellegrini knowing the player very well. It appears Isco has chosen to stay in Spain with Real Madrid after agreeing a £23 million pound deal which may be the better decision in terms of his long term development.

Although the idea of Isco playing in the Premier League would be most Man City fans idea of a ‘wet dream’ it’s just not meant to be unfortunately for them. Fortunately for the player though Real Madrid being his other option can help him to realise his full potential.

It is obvious that Isco is already a brilliant player but you always get the feeling when watching him that there is still so much more to come. I think that Real Madrid will be the right team to speed up that development, they will allow him to play in his natural position alongside stars that will bring out the best of him. He will be safer in La Liga too as far as physicality goes.

He is still growing at the age of 21 and he needs time to work on his strength if he were to play in the Premier league it would be a real test in terms of how he would handle the pace and the physical nature of the division a test that he may not quite be ready for.

Moving countries also adds a lot of pressure on a player especially one that would require such a big transfer fee and if he wasn’t able to live up that pressure it may be detrimental to his development. So for now for Isco being able  to stay in the country he has grown up in and to play at the highest level is what will bring out the best in him, maybe in four or five years time a move may be beneficial but for now he must keep working hard and impressing.
