Big Sam Eyes Ecuador Star - Why He Could Shine For The Hammers

Sam Allardyce has been criticised for his supposed negative brand of football at Upton Park, with many supporters complaining about a lack of flair and goals. He has already added Mauro Zarate to his squad this summer and his search for another goal threat has led him to another South American.

5 Defenders Who Could Sort West Ham Out

West Ham are in a rut at the moment. Just one place outside the relegation zone with ten points, the only thing keeping them out is their goal difference, which is better than Fulham's. Without a win since the start of October, without a point since the start of November, shipping nine goals since their last victory against Tottenham and only scoring two, it is a real sorry state of affairs for the East London club. On paper, they have a good team, but injuries, form and abilities of some players have severely hindered them in this campaign. Because of their relatively dry spell in front of goal, you'd expect me to create a list of strikers that Sam Allardyce could sign but, because I've already covered it, why not develop a list for their other problem area: defence. Who could come in and plug the gap that Winston Reid looks like he'll be leaving through injury?:

Why Sam Allardyce Is Treading On Thin Ice

After Fulham's 2-1 home loss to Swansea on Saturday Fulham manager, Martin Jol cut a dejected figure in his post match interview, almost as if he knew the end was nigh and that Jonjo Shelvey's late winner was the final nail in his coffin.

Is Olivier Giroud An Unlikely Hero At Arsenal?

At times, Olivier Giroud may seem like the kind of centre forward to play for a Tony Pulis or Sam Allardyce side.  That statement intends no offence to the player or either manager, instead just reflecting an unavoidable point regarding the sheer physical power the striker possesses.

3 Positives To Carlton Cole Being Back At West Ham

West Ham Will Continue Playing Allardyce's Way

For years Sam Allardyce’s sides have come under scrutiny for the way they play their football and the common presumption that the Hammers ‘hoof’ it up is pretty accurate. This, however ugly it may seem to fans of Arsenal, Swansea and Barcelona – works. A 10th place Premier League finish last season goes a long way to justifying that. Would you rather win more matches, or pass the ball more?

    Duvan Zapata’s Move to England

Oh East London, is wonderful, Oh East London is wonderful, well at least that’s what incoming Colombian Zapata will be hoping anyway, so away from the boozers and cockney meat market stalls and corner sellers selling moody gold, I’m aware I’m painting a grand old portrait of some Eastenders scene, but it might just be the right place for the big man to ply his towering trade.

La Liga forward no closer to Premier League move after big money bid turned down (Video)

Spanish side Sevilla have turned down a £14.5m offer from West Ham for Alvaro Negredo on the same day that they almost concluded the £17m deal to sell Jesus Navas to Manchester City. Was this just a case of the Hammers being unlucky, as the Andalucians had already agreed to part with one of their star players and therefore didn't want to lose another so quickly, or were they aiming too high by even attempting to capture such a player?
