5 Players Who Could Keep Crystal Palace In The Premier League

Crystal Palace are a side in deep trouble because of a very poor start to the season. They sit at the bottom of the table on just four points, with said points coming from of a victory against Sunderland early in the campaign and a draw against Everton in their last fixture before the international break. Added to that, they've scored just six goals and have conceded 21, which says a lot about who they need to beat the drop. If it isn't obvious, then Palace need a good striker that has a history of scoring goals as well as a defender that can bring organisation and leadership. With a run of four games coming up against other struggling sides, they need to pick up points if they're to stand any chance of survival. Here's my list:

    1. Filip Djordevic

If you've read my other post about contracts ending next summer in Ligue 1, you would have come across this man. As I said in that post, he's a prolific striker that has really picked up form in the past couple of seasons. He has scored eight goals in 13 this campaign and managed 23 in 40 last season. With Palace mustering just six goals so far, his record could spill over into his time at Palace which is what the London based club really do need. The Serbian could be available at a cut price deal in January due to the player's contract expiring next summer. So, unless Nantes offer him a new deal, Djordevic could be Palace's by the end of January.

    2. Jonatan Soriano

Another striker that could and probably should be bought by Crystal Palace due to his incredible statistics this season, which has seen the former Barcelona 'B' player score 23 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions as well as grabbing 16 assists. He is not only a goal scorer but a creator, which is something Palace also need. Despite being available for under £5 million, I would expect heavy interest in him come January if he returns from injury soon.

    3. Evandro

The Estoril-Prala attacking midfielder has been in fine form this season and in the position that Palace perhaps need the most. It's all very well buying a recognised goal scorer but if there's no one there to create for him then you're not getting the maximum out of the striker. Evandro could provide perfect support for Soriano or Djordevic as he's currently on seven goals this season, also assisting two for the Portuguese side.

    4. Emmanuel Frimpong

The Arsenal man is nearing the end of his career at Arsenal and will probably be sold or at least loaned in January or the summer. This could be a good move for Palace who need a good anchoring midfielder to partner Mile Jedinak, who deserves more credit than he's received. The Ghanian international has been out of the squad through minor injuries and fitness concerns, which is why he's been limited to just two appearances this season, both coming in the U21 Premier League.

    5. Antonio Amaya

The Real Betis centre-back has been short of credit this season due to the failures of his side as a whole, but the player has actually had an impressive season if you look at him as an individual and evaluate his performances. Palace need a good centre back who is experienced and a leader because they need to get their defence organised and on the same wave length if they want to survive.
