Jack Wilshere: Goal of the Week (Video)

It is a sign of the times that within seconds of Jack Wilshere's excellent opener for Arsenal today there was already a video of the goal on the internet.

3 things more interesting than Jack Wilshere's comments

It is a sign of the international break that the media are getting all excited over some vaguely inoffensive comments made by Arsenal's Jack Wilshere about English players playing for England.

Oliver Torres - Atletico Madrid's secret weapon

One of the players I mentioned yesterday definitely made some of you look at the name and think, who is that? Well, the avid followers of youth football and La Liga will understand the hype that surrounds the player. A sensational talent that is just 18 years old and has potential like no other player I've seen in a long time. Spain are very lucky to have this player lurking amongst their youth ranks.

It seems England’s rose, Jack Wilshere has been photographed smoking a cigarette on a night-out, but is the whole media whirlwind worthy of the crime?

3 Reasons Why Arsenal Can Win The Premier League

It has been ten years since Arsenal’s Invincibles became the first team to go an entire Premier League season unbeaten.  Despite a decade having passed, it is still slightly surprising that not a single player from that squad remains at the club.  The one man who does is manager Arsene Wenger, who has had to defend his side’s trophy drought since winning the FA Cup in 2005.

A closer look at Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus

Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus is one of the five players I mentioned yesterday in regards to who Arsenal should be targeting in January and I discussed why his transfer to Arsenal wouldn't be as ridiculous as some people make out it would be. A quick summary for those who didn't read it yesterday. Tomas Rosicky is his idol, he supports Arsenal, he speaks very highly of Jack Wilshere, the arrival of Mesut Ozil and the German influence on the team in general.

The Wrong Midfield Line-Up For England

With a midfield three containing players of obvious quality on paper, how come it was the same old story once again for England in their recent outing against Ukraine?

The Importance Of Theo Walcott To Arsenal

I've been inspired by yesterday's post for my three video blogs for today because I love pointing out, and almost realising myself on some occasions, how important a player is to a team. Today I have a visual aid to assist me, and the player who I have chosen is Theo Walcott. The 24-year-old has been at the centre of criticism for most of his career at Arsenal after bursting on to the scene as a 16-year-old. The reason for this is, until last season, he was very inconsistent and fans started to worry that all of the potential he had as a 16-year-old was already reached by the age of 23/24. However, last season he proved many critics wrong by being Arsenal's top goal scorer with 14 goals. He also grabbed 12 assists in the Premier League also.

Why Signing Mathieu Flamini Was A Wise Move For Arsenal

After looking at Yaya Sangogo in my previous article, I thought I'd have a closer look at Arsenal's French midfielder Mathieu Flamini. Now if your memory serves you well, you will remember the name Mathieu Flamini as the player had previously spent time in the Premier League. In fact, he spent his previous time with Arsenal, when the Gunners had a midfield which included Alex Hleb, Francesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky. This time round, though, the Frenchman will be playing alongside Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey to name a few. It's a change, yes, but the quality of players around him remains the same, if not better.

UEFA Under 21 Championships - We coulda been a contender!

Let’s play a game I’ve unimaginatively titled “Cut out the middle man”. It basically involves us looking ahead two weeks to the end of the UEFA European Under-21 Championships and pre-empting the latest upcoming inquest into the state of English international football.

The competition will obviously be won by Spain. They have

Fictional wonderkids or the real deal - midfielders

Yesterday’s look at the Football Manager wonderkids proved that many of the defenders were still trying to find their place, being pushed from pillar to post on loan to the lower leagues. Will the midfielders find their Premier League prospects much better?
