Arsenal star is a long term target for Guardiola at Bayern (Video)

Incoming Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has been given an enormous transfer war chest as he looks to build an unbeatable side at the Allianz Arena. According to several reports recently, he admires Arsenal’s young midfielder Jack Wilshere and would love to make the England international part of his revolution in Munich. How realistic the story is remains to be seen but it is still very interesting as Bayern’s midfield is packed with star names and it is hard to see just where Wilshere would fit into their side. Added to this, he would find it very difficult to leave Arsenal as he grew up at the club and has an emotional attachment to it.

Hypothetically speaking, let’s take a look at what Wilshere would offer Bayern should this surprising transfer occur. When he hasn’t been out injured, Wilshere has proven himself to be all-round midfielder despite being just 21-years-old. He has created 47 chances for teammates including three assists at an average of two chances created per game. He is deceptively quick and loves to dart from midfield showing a brilliant burst of speed to beat his man. The central midfielder has completed 58% of his 96 take-ons and suffering 52 fouls which is a phenomenal amount. He is equally as impressive when defending for his team, winning 85% of his 33 tackles.

It is likely that Wilshere is a longer term target for Guardiola with it being very unlikely that he will leave the Emirates anytime soon. I’m sure his past performances against Pep’s great Barcelona side have made the Spanish boss an admirer of the young Englishman. If Arsenal continue their infamous trophy-less streak in the next few seasons then Wilshere’s head could be swayed by Bayern as they are looking as though they are building a team which can dominate Europe for years to come.
