Kevin Strootman Linked With Manchester United - Why The Red Devils May Struggle To Sign The Midfielder

Many of the Netherlands’ World Cup squad have been linked with Manchester United since Louis van Gaal was named as the Red Devils’ new manager.  One Dutchman who was not in Brazil, however, has also been talked up as a potential target for the club.  Kevin Strootman missed the tournament through injury, but his displays for his country in qualifying and in Serie A for Roma were impressive enough to make him a viable option.

Chelsea Linked With Filipe Luis and Marcos Rojo - Why Both Players Could Replace Ashley Cole

After eight years with the London club, former England left-back Ashley Cole decided it was right to call time on his Chelsea career and look elsewhere. This came after a frustrating season for Cole, who was replaced in the team by Cesar Azpilicueta for the majority of games. This week Cole was signed by Italian club Roma and can now look forward to the new challenges that lie ahead. There are many left-backs that have been linked with the Blues that could take his place but, after being such an influential player, it is important that Jose Mourinho chooses wisely.

Roma Look To Snap Up Former Chelsea Left-Back - Why He Would Be A Good Signing

After spending his entire career playing in England’s capital, Ashley Cole looks set to join a club from Italy’s.  It would certainly be interesting to see how the left-back fares should he make the move abroad.

THREE Centre-Backs Who Could Replace David Luiz For Chelsea

Chelsea are a team who have been left with a sour taste in their mouth after the 2013/14 season ended trophyless for them, despite the return of 'The Special One'. Jose Mourinho is now more determined than ever to win a trophy and he is eyeing the big one: the Premier League title. So far the Portuguese manager has made some big steps in his pursuit of Premier League glory next season, as he has bought Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas. These are two great signings who will vastly improve Chelsea's attack. However, the club have also sold David Luiz, weakening their defence.

Liverpool Linked With Former Barcelona Ace - Here's Why The Move Could Reignite The Spaniard's Career

Liverpool are reported to be interested in Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic with talks of a £5m summer move. The 23-year old has endured a sticky loan spell at Ajax making just 15 league appearances and has hit the back of the net twice. But could it be a move that reignites what looks to be a stagnating career?

8 Serie A Players Whose Contracts Are Ending Next Season

In the penultimate article on players whose contract ends next summer, I will take a look at who may well be available for free next season in Serie A, evaluate who may want them, and express my surprise at some of the inclusions. Serie A is rich with experienced players that reigned supreme six or seven years ago and are now just hoping to keep their fitness in order to be of use to teams. Javier Zanetti, for example, is 40 years old and is still churning out 40 appearances a season. However, an injury has limited him to just one appearance so far this season. His contract does end next summer as well, but he doesn't make the list due to age and his commitment to Inter Milan. Esteban Cambiasso, Andrea Pirlo, Diego Milito, David Pizarro, Miroslav Klose, Walter Samuel, Nicola Legrottaglie and many more legends of the game will be out of contract next summer. Plenty of bargains to be had there.

How about that Roma eh? One goal conceded? Top of Serie A? Ten wins out of ten? Not too shabby.

    What has happened to Roma?

After seven Serie A games we had expected two time defending champions Juventus to be sitting top of the pile and if not then probably one of Napoli, Fiorentina and AC Milan – nobody would have predicted it would be Roma who would be topping the pile at this stage.

Roma legend Totti is not finished yet

Terms such as 'club legend' and 'all-time great' are in truth banded about all too often in football, when in truth there are very players who can command such high players. Yet in Francesco Totti Roma possess the very definition of a club hero, a player who is not out of place sitting alongside the great Paolo Maldini when it comes to the finest and most influential players in Serie A.

    A Look At Southampton's New Big-Money Signing

Southampton splashed out over £12 million on Pablo Osvaldo (who somewhat bizarrely claimed in his first press conference at the club that he wished to be known by his middle name ‘Daniel’), but just what can Saints expect the Argentine-Italian striker to bring to their ever-improving squad?

Serie A – The transfer window so far

Serie A has already seen a host of movement occur this transfer window, with virtually all of the big players strengthening their squads. In previous campaigns the cash has been somewhat lacking in Italy however this opening period indicates that Serie A clubs are now once again in a position to compete with the rest of Europe’s elite financially.

Arsenal's Ivorian striker Gervinho is on the verge of joining Italian side Roma after an £8m deal was agreed. However, the Italian side need to sell players before the deal can be concluded as they don't currently have the finances to complete the move. Rafa Benitez has a point to prove with Napoli

With the signing of Gonzalo Higuain to replace Edinson Cavani, and the arrivals of Pepe Reina, Raul Albiol and Jose Callejon during the past month, Rafa Benitez has very quickly made his mark on Napoli and brought in a lot of Spanish or Spanish speaking players. Whether this is a conscious effort to surround himself with players that have been educated the 'Spanish way' and understand the type of football that he wants to play remains to be seen, although he is clearly looking for an improvement on his previous attempt at management in Serie A.
