Midweek joy in Europa League for British clubs

All three clubs representing England in the Europa League came out with victories last night in what proved to be a fairly easy night for the sides. Tottenham, Wigan and Swansea collectively scored a total of 6 goals scored and conceded just 1. Topping it all off, all of the trio are still undefeated going into gameweek 3.

3 Big Money Strikers Trying To Make Their Name In The Premier League

It is hard enough to get going in the Premier League without someone paying millions of pounds to acquire your services.  Such fees automatically raise expectations, and there have been many examples of players who have found it hard to shake off the pressure that a huge price tag can bring.  This is especially true of strikers, who are judged primarily on how many times they find the net.

3 reasons why talk of Jose Mourinho's demise is premature

It is fascinating to see how a string of one or two poor results can set alarm bells ringing and all of a sudden knees start jerking and someone gets fired. I'm not saying Chelsea's Jose Mourinho will be getting fired anytime soon, but the way in which some fans are reacting to his team's 2-1 loss in the Champions League on Wednesday you'd think that's exactly what they want.

Real Betis - A Look Back At Their 2012/2013 Campaign

As I had a quick preview of next season for Real Betis in my piece on Thursday, I thought it would be fitting to look back upon what was the 2012/2013 campaign which has been heavily talked about by fans in Spain. Their success last season was extra special for them because back in the 2010/2011 season they won promotion from the Segunda division. Fast forward two seasons they are now in the Europa League group stages. Amazing achievement. This video looks back upon the wonderful season and the players individually.

What Sort Of Season Will Real Betis Have?

It's fair to say that Real Betis have had an incredibly busy summer so far. They've plucked free agents from around the world and picked up players on very cheap deals. In fact, the small £5 million they've spent has seen a massive 13 players in total come into the club. However, they have had to replace 17 players that have either been sold, loaned or returned to their parent club - a total of 30 changes in personnel. An incredible figure, and as an Arsenal fan whose club have done very little in terms of incomings, I have been kept entertained by the business of Betis.

Bafetimbi Gomis has been doing the business in Ligue 1 since 2007, but could he cut in the Premier League? Five years after their initial interest during his time at Saint-Etienne, Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a fee for the French striker with his current club Lyon.

How will Rafa Benitez fare at Napoli? A closer look (Video)

He has endured one of the most difficult seasons since becoming a manager, despite leading Chelsea to European glory as they defeated Benfica in the Europa League final. The reason for this was the fans dislike of the ex-Liverpool manager and comments made about the club during those fiery Champions League clashes with Jose Mourinho many years ago. Although we often say that time is a healer, a section of Chelsea's supporters have certainly not forgotten the incidents from the past and spent all season making sure that the Spaniard was well aware that he was not wanted at Stamford Bridge.
