Why Chris Smalling Should Have Gone Out On Loan

Chris Smalling seems to be one of Roy Hodgson’s ‘teacher’s pets’ within the England squad. This is perhaps down to the fact he gave him his big break by putting him in the first team at Fulham which then enabled him to get a move to Old Trafford.  In his first season at United, Smalling impressed so much that he was named on the bench for the 2011 Champions League Final against Barcelona ahead of the more experienced Jonny Evans.

England don't stand a chance with Roy Hodgson

In the past we have had high hope; however in recent years those dreams have disappeared and even then we struggle to get out of the group stage. From Roy Hodgson’s half hearted tactical display in the Euro’s last year to Rob Green’s mistake in South Africa... just as it was all going so well. My ideal England midfield

With the recent friendlies against Ireland and Brazil now gone, we as a footballing nation are far off the pace set by the other top nations, and I think one factor is our midfield, here’s my opinion on it.

    Another overpriced youngster

It finally looks like the Wilfred Zaha saga is over, after months of speculation and rumours it appears that only one club were really that interested. Manchester United are said to have agreed a deal with Crystal Palace in the region of £15,000,000 - Shocking I know. Whoever values our young English talent nees to take a good look at themselves, a good look.

Protect Our Youths Before Its Too Late

The FA’s ‘Respect’ campaign predicates around preserving the foundations of our beautiful game. One way the ‘Respect’ campaign aims to pursue this emanates from improving parent-to-child relationship. Especially preserving young kids, who will be the next generation of English football.

England’s starting XI for Brazil 2014

It may seem a long way away, but before we all know it; the 2014 World Cup would’ve snuck up on us. What feels like eons ago, Euro 2012 took centre stage before the Olympics and Paralympics grasped the imagination of sports fans across the world.

The Serbian FA are having a laugh, right?

In the wake of the horrific abuse that Danny Rose received last night, the Serbian FA have all but taken it upon themselves to deny the on-loan Sunderland left-back received any form of harsh treatment during England’s 1-0 win over Serbia.

A glimpse into the future of England

The recent headline news about the huge centre of excellence for English Football got me thinking.  What sort of squad can we expect, not in Brazil 2014 but in Russia 2018?

The running Emile Heskey joke did not always ring true (Video)

This week it emerged that Australian club Newcastle Jets sold out their first batch of shirts for their new signing Emile Heskey and have had to place an order for thousands more in order to satisfy the demand of their supporters to have the 34-year-old ex England-international on the back of their shirts.

Roy's sensible points will inevitably fall on deaf ears

Roy Hodgson is a smart, intelligent man with a degree in football from the school of hard knocks, a diploma from the college of travails and a couple of gold stars from the nursery of hard yakka.

    Player in focus: Raheem Sterling

When I was told a few years back to ‘remember the name of Raheem Sterling’, I casually noted it down in my mental diary of ones to watch in the future. However, little did I know Sterling would progress so quickly in such a minute space of time, and is now beating full-backs for fun in the Premier League.
