    Transfer window winners and losers

Slam; that’s the sound of the transfer window shutting for another six months leaving Jim White, Dharmesh Sheth, Andy Burton, David Craig and all the rest in need of a good lie down. Perhaps later they’re decide to drop their “sources” who gave out as much misleading information as a broken compass.

Messi to sign for Dagenham and Redbridge?!

I wonder if journalists make up transfer rumours or whether they do have any basis in reality. There does always seem to be stories in papers that make you think “surely not”. There are also ones that make you think, “Yeah that sounds possible”.

Diary Of A Sky Sports Reporter

Hartlepool nil Huddersfield nil. Goalscoring opportunities nil (or at least it felt like that!). Entertainment nil. Reports on Sky nil. Hours driving to and from the game a lot more than nil. Ticket price nil. Money earned more than nil. And it's those last two which I try to remember on days like this.

    FootballFriendsonline.com Football Quiz Challenge

What type of quizzer are you? Do you sit drunk and clueless in the corner? Or are you halfway to Nerdsville with a tank top on and a smart-arse smile? Can you admit to watching Eggheads - even if only in a moment of weakness? No matter which category you fall into – try our pub quiz and prove to yourself that the years of watching and talking about footy have not been a complete waste of time. But please try not to cheat, for as my headmaster used to say “You’re only cheating on yourself”, which ironically is not what his wife said to him, when she caught him in congress with his secretary.

Reborn McClaren attempts to pull up trees at Forest

It may be an understatement to say that Steve McClaren is an easy target for critics after that infamous qualifying campaign for Euro 2008 in charge of England. The use of umbrella on that tormented night against Croatia didn’t help either, and neither did the abysmally guided press conference in attempted pidgin Dutch after taking the reins at FC Twente. However, after winning the Dutch Premier League with the club from humble Enschede, his stock saw something of an upturn and, after an ill-fated spell in charge of Wolfsburg, he has been permitted a route back into England and a shot at redemption.

    Welcome to 2011-12

It always feels like the longest 10 weeks in history when the football season’s finished. Just what is there to do over the summer? The only thing to read about is transfer rumours dreamt up by the club’s tea lady, or how your favourite stars sandcastle skills seem to be dwindling to say the least.

    Liverpool Revolution?

It’s been quite a season for those associated with Liverpool Football Club. In October, new owners were brought in to try and stabilise the rocking ship that was once a dominant force across Europe, while in January, fans witnessed the return of a club legend, to take the place of Liverpool’s shortest serving manager.

    Passionate Premier League Fans

Watching an English premier league match, involving one of these big teams in a public viewing centre in Nigeria is always very interesting and challenging. The legacy of Patrick Vieira

In 1996, a little known French midfielder aged 20 arrived on English shores, for a fee of £3.5 million. While this may seem like a pitiful amount, just one tenth of Andy Carroll, back then it was a decent amount of money.
