Hugely impressive for Chelsea during his time at Stamford Bridge, Florent Malouda has largely been forgotten since leaving the Premier League.  According to the Daily Mail, however, the Frenchman could be on his way back to England’s top flight.

A look back at Dennis Bergkamp - Arsenal's non-flying Dutchman

When Dennis Bergkamp joined Arsenal in 1995 for a club record fee of £7.5million, it was seen as a significant signing for the Gunners. Arsenal were going through a period of decline and Bergkamp was already an established international player and he would play a huge part of the success Arsenal would later find.

The unbelievable excitement of English football (video)

English football has proven this season that the birthplace of the beautiful game is home to some of the most exciting football in the world. This has been particularly evident in the lower leagues this season with some quite unbelievable endings to games in both the Championship and League One where fans of several clubs have experienced ecstasy and agony in a matter of moments. Who writes the Championship script?

You can knock it for its lack of quality and this season that argument might be as true as it has ever been, however there is no denying that few leagues can match the Championship for its remarkable levels of unpredictability, drama and entertainment.

    Forest push for promotion

Since Billy Davies returned as manager of Nottingham Forest earlier in the season it seems like everything he touches turns to gold. This upturn in form is in stark contrast with the moment when he took charge in February. Shortly before he returned for his second stint at the midlands club, the side was languishing in mid table and Alex McLeish had just exited the City Ground after only seven games in charge. Disagreements with the owners about transfer policy and the deemed interference with which the ex-Birmingham manager believed had taken place was enough for him to call it quits.

Championship play-off race too close to call

It is mathematically possible that any one of 7 teams could occupy the final 3 remaining Championship play-off places come the end of the regular season on May 4th. Watford have secured their place in the play-offs, but the three teams below them in the table, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Bolton have not yet made their position in the play-offs safe. Leicester and Nottingham Forest are in 7th and 8th respectively and both still have realistic chances of finishing in the top 6.

    Roberto Mancini has talent  (Video)

Long before he was manager of Manchester City, Roberto Mancini was lighting up the pitches of Serie A for Sampdoria and Lazio. The passionate and delightfully talented No 10 spent 15 years at Sampdoria, helping them to the league title, four Italian cups and the Cup Winners Cup. His partnership with Gianluca Vialli was very productive, although he never featured on a regular basis for the Italian national side due to his team mate often being preferred to partner Roberto Baggio for the Azzurri.

    When clubs move house.

Sometimes a club must uproot themselves and start again elsewhere – whether that be because 25,000 seats just isn’t enough to sustain the club anymore, or because bits of the main stand are falling and crushing passing linesmen. Whatever the reason, such a change can often affect a club’s form in the short-term.
