Have Torres and Ba done enough to lead Chelsea’s brave new world?

The transfer fees of Chelsea’s two leading strikers have had endless column inches written about them. The £50m paid for Fernando Torres has long been seen as one of the great swindles in living memory, while the reported £7m for Demba Ba is a deal relatively in-keeping with the austerity of the real world. Will either be at Stamford Bridge a year from now?

There are a few managers who have have made moves or will move in the summer transfer window. But will they complete their task as tactician and push the team to glory?

Rafa Benitez lines up Chelsea star for Napoli (video)

As if Rafa Benitez hasn’t done enough for Chelsea, the Express reports that he’s prepared to take some time centre back David Luiz with him to Italy.

When I say some time centre back I’m not referring to his

How will Rafa Benitez fare at Napoli? A closer look (Video)

He has endured one of the most difficult seasons since becoming a manager, despite leading Chelsea to European glory as they defeated Benfica in the Europa League final. The reason for this was the fans dislike of the ex-Liverpool manager and comments made about the club during those fiery Champions League clashes with Jose Mourinho many years ago. Although we often say that time is a healer, a section of Chelsea's supporters have certainly not forgotten the incidents from the past and spent all season making sure that the Spaniard was well aware that he was not wanted at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea striker deserves a chance at the club (Video)

After a fantastic season spent on loan at West Bromwich Albion will Romelu Lukaku get a chance to lead the Chelsea attack next year? Much will depend on the new manager appointed to lead the Blues by Roman Abramovich, with Jose Mourinho the overwhelming favourite to return to the club he left many years ago. Would the 'special one' find a place for the Belgian striker or would he stick with Fernando Torres, despite his obvious lack of form since signing for £50m from Liverpool?

Chelsea must stave off interest from Monaco for defender

When Branislav Ivanovic was first signed for Chelsea there wasn’t much fanfare around the Serbian he seemingly just slipped into Stamford Bridge for a £10 million pound transfer fee. He didn’t play at all in his first season at the club because of a lack of match fitness it wasn’t until 8 months after signing that he made his first appearance at the club. Now Chelsea fans must all be in agreement that you wouldn’t want him missing a single game as he has become somewhat of a rock in the heart of the Chelsea defence. He is now an integral part of the Chelsea back line, rumours have begun to circulate that AS Monaco are interested in the player but for Chelsea it is important that they dismiss this interest as soon as possible.

Mario Balotelli happy to be home

He was regularly in the media whilst at Manchester City and more often than not it was for all the wrong reasons. From setting off fireworks in his bathroom to giving out money whilst dressed as Santa, separating the fact from the fiction was almost impossible and there was too little talk about his ability whilst on the pitch. Mario Balotelli had a difficult time in England but now appears to be much happier now that he has moved back home to Italy.

Mourinho at the end of his Real Madrid tether? (video)

Jose Mourinho’s time at Real Madrid may be drawing to a close, and it seems to be coming to a suitably messy conclusion should that be the case. Atletico Madrid conquered their city rivals 2-1 in the Copa del Ray final. For it to be done in their own back yard will be nothing short of unforgivable for those attending the Bernabeu, and the Special One’s stock will have fallen ever further. His sending-off paints the picture of a man on the brink.

Rafa Benitez – Success or Failure at Chelsea?

Back in November, there was uproar amongst  fans as a new manager was appointed, namely Rafa Benitez, who had said back in 2007 that he ‘would never take the Chelsea job, in respect for his former team Liverpool, no matter what.’

The off-field allure of Jose Mourinho (video)

Jose Mourinho’s prospective return to Chelsea has been one of the worst kept secrets in football for some time now. A big part of his allure, aside from the mountain of trophies, is his post-match interviews, and the dignity he often displays (eye-poking aside).

Moyes was the sensible option for Manchester United job

I think Gary Lineker worded it best when asked what he thought about the appointment of David Moyes as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor at Old Trafford; 'it's a sensible option'.
