We are now around a quarter of the way through the 2013-14 League One campaign. With that being the case, it feels appropriate to take a look at some of this season’s standout performers:
A stunning goal on your league debut is one of the best ways to win over your new fans, something which Willian obviously realised as he entered the pitch for Chelsea at Carrow Road.
The news that Robbie Brady will be out of action for a month has likely put a dampener on the day of Hull City supporters everywhere.
Swansea City won their first major trophy last season after picking up the Capital One Cup in February, and although they are unlikely to win another, it doesn’t mean things can’t get better for the Welsh club. Teams such as Aston Villa and Newcastle United, who have been top half sides for most of the Premiership era, have slipped away over the last few years – the exception being the Toon’s 2011/2012 campaign - so can Michael Laudrup’s establish themselves as a top half club?
Arriving at his new club as an attacking midfielder, Miguel Perez Cuesta soon showed the rest of the Premier League that goals were very much within his locker.
During this years League Cup final between Swansea and Bradford City there was a rather unsavoury moment between Swansea's Nathan Dyer and Jonathan de Guzman.
Despite suffering from something of a League Cup hangover Swansea City have still had a fantastic season.
Carson Yeung's takeover of Birmingham City in 2009 brought with it a sense of optimism and hope at St Andrew's.
Recently Michael Laudrup’s stock has risen dramatically at Swansea City. He has won the Capital One Cup and has signed a one year extension to his managerial contract at the Liberty Stadium.
Speculation is growing that Reading are to turn to Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson as they battle to beat the Premier League drop.
The Capital One Cup final takes place this Sunday and suffice to say that it is a remarkable achivement that League Two Bradford City have made it all the way to the final.
This seasons League Cup final has served up a contest very few, if any, could have ever predicted.
