    Where did I go wrong?

A sadness swept over me yesterday (Wednesday). A sadness that made me look at my life and achievements and question everything I have ever done - and indeed everything I didn't do. A melancholia that still hangs over me today, and may do for a few more days yet.

With its earlier inceptions such as Bebo and MySpace suffering sharp declines in popularity, the frontrunners in the competitive world of social networking media now appear to be Facebook and Twitter. Since being launched in July 2006, Twitter has amassed approximately 200 million users, generating over 190 million ‘tweets’ per day.

    The French Invasion (Part Deux)

Hastings this was the site of the last invasion of Britain by French forces in 1066, according to my very little scope of British history and my unwillingness to click past the first link that Google gave me. Long has passed as the English plotted, but it seems the time for revenge is nigh as the Barclays Premier League raids Ligue 1 of all its talent.

Pearce not qualified for senior job after dismal campaign

In the aftermath of England’s defeat to the Czech Republic in the Under 21 European Championship on Sunday night, the FA were quick to state that Stuart Pearce would remain in charge of the team at that level and that the offer of a two year extension, which was offered back in March, would not be withdrawn. Fans have a right to be sceptical over this decision as England were very poor in Denmark, but it is pleasing that this move will have all but ruled Pearce out of the running to be Fabio Capello’s successor when the Italians’ contract expires next summer.

    Hairy Giants

So last week I was holidaying in Portugal, and whilst my wife and kid were basking in the 30 degree sunshine and splashing around in the pool, I was sitting in a cool, air conditioned lounge watching some of the U21 European Championships.

    A terrible outrage gone unnoticed

The common consensus of the people is difficult to ascertain. It is the job which the mass media are assigned though often they shape rather than reflect this consensus. With this in mind, let us delve into the reaction to the cutting of Premier League funding to the Supporters Direct organisation.
