5 Goals, 6 Assists: Manchester United Linked With Serie A Star In Swap Deal - Player Report

Reports suggest that Manchester United’s out of sorts Brazilian midfielder Anderson could be used in an attempted swoop for Fiorentina’s Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.

Anderson has been out on loan at the Serie A side this season after falling out of favour with United manager David Moyes.  Sir Alex Ferguson saw Anderson as an exciting prospect when he bought him from Porto back in 2007 but the Brazilian failed to live up to the expectations of the Sir Alex Ferguson and the United faithful.

So who is Juan Guillermo Cuadrado?

Originally a striker at youth level, the 25-year-old Colombian-born international has featured for Udinese and now Fiorentina since 2012, scoring five goals and creating six assists to date this season.  The live wire midfielder, who can also play at wing-back, was part of a successful Columbian team that qualified second to Argentina in the 2014 World Cup Qualifying group.

Since making his debut in 2010 for Colombia, Cuadrado has made 27 international appearances which some have come against big teams like Argentina and Brazil respectively.

United lack pace in their side at present this season so I’m sure David Moyes will be wanting to add this quality to the team come the start of the new season.  It remains to be seen whether United actually follow through with this rumored transfer attempt, but if they do I’m certain Cuadrado can shine in the Premier League.
