Fulham secure full-back deal, but Jol seeks more transfers

Martin Jol unravelled his lederhosen today as he welcomed Koln right-back Sascha Riether to the club on a permanent basis. The stocky German has been one of the club's stand out players this season and Cottagers far and wide will be raising their bratwurst in appreciation to both the 30-year-old and Jol, who has confirmed that he will re-shape his squad over the summer.

The Dutch gaffer has been pasted all over the tabloids recently as his future in west London remains uncertain, but he has told the BBC that he is happy at the club. Awww, that's cute.

He said: "I am very happy and we will try to get some players in."

The reasons for the doubt regarding his time in charge are solely the current poor run of form. Jol's troops have hit a limp run of late and have gone seven without a win, but they travel to Liberty Stadium on the last day of the season tomorrow to see if they can royally stuff the Swans.

Riether has appeared in 34 of Fulham's 37 games so far this term, creating 23 chances and scoring a goal himself. He has made an average of six defensive actions per game, while winning 61% of his duels - which in itself isn't very German like.

You can imagine the elation of Martin Jol after he managed to secure a deal for the full-back can't you? Well, here is what he said: "We agreed a deal with Cologne so he will stay here. He will be our player next year."

    Oh.
