5 Signs That Arsenal Are The Real Deal This Season - Part 1

In my last article I explained how the media set up Arsenal's season in their own minds and that they didn't expect much to happen. Exit from the Champions League, struggle early but a late pick up in form lands them in the Champions League but the minimal squad depth made some journalists jump to conclusions that the Gunners may not even make the Champions League next season. At the moment, they are defying the odds and are having a great season. But what's important to know is that this is no fluke - Arsene Wenger has found a tactic, a team, and a balance that can help Arsenal win the league. Here are five reasons why I think Arsenal can win the league. Hindsight will tell me not to do this just in case, but this is my opinion now and it's not likely to change soon.

Why Wenger Must Rest Olivier Giroud This Weekend Against Cardiff

Olivier Giroud is enjoying his football this season, you can see it in the way he goes about himself. The Frenchman was written off before he had even kicked a ball this term but his form in pre season excited some, and rightly so. Now 12 games into the Premier League campaign, Giroud has scored seven goals, claimed four assists, and made another 13 key passes on top of that. He has also scored twice in the Champions League and created two chances, but all this playing time could prove costly later in the season.

Walcott Back For Southampton Clash, But Should He Be Thrown Straight Into The Mix?

The Southampton academy has seen the birth of many great talents over the years - Gareth Bale of Real Madrid, current trio Adam Lallana, James Ward-Prowse and Luke Shaw and Arsenal's Theo Walcott, and the latter is ready to pay them another visit this weekend. Sky Sports say that the Gunners whippet has recovered from his abdominal injury and will be available to Arsene Wenger for the tie.

Why Bendtner Is More Important To Arsenal Than Some People Think

When Nicklas Bendtner suggested that his next move would be to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, the nation erupted with laugher and the Spanish were left asking each other who this joker was. The comments may have been made tongue in cheek as he continues his search for a new club in the new year, but things don't always go to plan.

Where Will Walcott Fit Into The Arsenal Mix When He Returns From Injury?

When Theo Walcott demanded to be played as a striker last season rather than a winger, few people took him seriously in his claims. However, the former Southampton player soon quietened the doubters when he struck 21 goals in his 43 appearances last time out. People were starting to take the England forward seriously, and then it all got pulled from beneath his feet.

    Gnabry vs Swansea (video)

My final piece and final match compilation is of someone different to Mesut Ozil. Gnabry is young, very young in fact, and to be thrown into the deep end at such a young age will be very daunting for the player. That is the reason why a few of his performances have been somewhat lacking in composure.

    Mesut Ozil vs Napoli (video)

I am deciding to do all three of my video blogs today on match compilations. Although they have all featured Mesut Ozil so far, he just happens to be the one I have found after a little bit of digging and scrolling.

5 players that can inspire Arsenal to glory this season

Arsenal and winning trophies has been a love story put on hold for too long. They've gone from having the confidence and the mindset to win any trophy they can compete in to blind optimism in recent years. They've come close on a couple of occasions though. Champions League final in 2006 and that League Cup final spring to mind but they haven't quite been able to get past the finishing line. Mesut Ozil's arrival has renewed faith in the fans that they can actually win something this season. Which is why the first player on my list is, without a doubt, Mesut Ozil.

5 Arsenal youth players that could make the step up

Arsene Wenger has often been accused of breathing new life into the team too often and that he buys too many young players when what Arsenal really need is a good experienced player. This season, however, is different.

3 Reasons Why Arsenal Can Win The Premier League

It has been ten years since Arsenal’s Invincibles became the first team to go an entire Premier League season unbeaten.  Despite a decade having passed, it is still slightly surprising that not a single player from that squad remains at the club.  The one man who does is manager Arsene Wenger, who has had to defend his side’s trophy drought since winning the FA Cup in 2005.

The Importance Of Theo Walcott To Arsenal

I've been inspired by yesterday's post for my three video blogs for today because I love pointing out, and almost realising myself on some occasions, how important a player is to a team. Today I have a visual aid to assist me, and the player who I have chosen is Theo Walcott. The 24-year-old has been at the centre of criticism for most of his career at Arsenal after bursting on to the scene as a 16-year-old. The reason for this is, until last season, he was very inconsistent and fans started to worry that all of the potential he had as a 16-year-old was already reached by the age of 23/24. However, last season he proved many critics wrong by being Arsenal's top goal scorer with 14 goals. He also grabbed 12 assists in the Premier League also.

Why Arsenal Should Have Looked Elsewhere During The Transfer Window

It would seem that Mesut Ozil’s move to Arsenal was seen as the biggest of the transfer window, and if you think this you would probably be right. But was it a smart move from Arsenal?

Why Signing Mathieu Flamini Was A Wise Move For Arsenal

After looking at Yaya Sangogo in my previous article, I thought I'd have a closer look at Arsenal's French midfielder Mathieu Flamini. Now if your memory serves you well, you will remember the name Mathieu Flamini as the player had previously spent time in the Premier League. In fact, he spent his previous time with Arsenal, when the Gunners had a midfield which included Alex Hleb, Francesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky. This time round, though, the Frenchman will be playing alongside Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey to name a few. It's a change, yes, but the quality of players around him remains the same, if not better.
