What Went Wrong For Chelsea In The Champions League This Week?

Chelsea really are feeling blue after Tuesday's loss in the Champion’s League to FC Basel. Despite loosing 1-0 with the goal being scored late on, in the 87th minute, Chelsea still managed to qualify for the knockout stages and are safely through to the next round. Though its great that the west London side will continue on in the Champions League, it was by no means pretty, and they shouldn’t be at all too proud of their recent performance.

Analysing Chelsea's Start To The Season: The Highs And Lows Under Jose Mourinho

Chelsea are currently enjoying a decent season under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. They sit third in the league, just four points behind leaders Arsenal, and sit top of Group E in the Champions League by three points. The Blues' most recently outing ended with a 3-0 trouncing of local rivals West Ham, so I thought that I would analyse their good start to the season.

Would Selling Mata Help De Bruyne Fill His Potential At Chelsea?

Juan Mata is an incredible player, there are few who would argue that, but he's not enjoying the most of his effective starts of the season this time round. Now, with various outlets reporting him with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the new year, it could be the end of his time in west London.

3 players to fire Chelsea to the title

Chelsea have made a fairly solid start to life under Mourinho. A last minute Fernando Torres goal gave the Blues a 2-1 victory over Manchester City today and moved Chelsea into second place, two points behind Arsenal. But who can fire the Blues to the title?

    Oscar - Chelsea's new 'number 10'

The first player of my series where I talk about attacking midfielders is based on Oscar - Chelsea's new 'number 10' according to Jose Mourinho, which has obviously come as a shock to Chelsea fans because they expected Juan Mata to keep his place especially after the season he had.

5 of the best attacking midfielders in Europe

Following on from my previous post, I have decided to pick out my top 10 attacking midfielders from around Europe as it is a position that intrigues me so much. Now, being an attacking midfielder isn't as easy as people think. There's more to it than just receiving the ball and passing it. You must be able to spot the passes and pick the right runs made by your team mates, but you also have to be able to make them passes. That means judging how hard you have to pass it, long or short pass, which players you have to split apart in order for the ball to reach it's target, if it needs any curl or backspin and where your next move is after you've passed the ball. Anyway, down to business.

It's a topic that has been running through my mind for quite a while. Which footballers do I like, not only as a player but also their attitude? It's not easy, but I feel like the players I've chosen abide by my check-list -hard working, quality and versatile are just a few of the categories they must succeed in.

Arsenal should play to their strengths - a tactical look at the Gunners

Whilst the Gonzalo Higuain story continues to rumble on, and the Argentine appears no closer to a move to the Emirates than he did about a month ago, what type of formation will Arsene Wenger use this season, regardless of whether the club manages to sign the striker or not?

Can Victor Moses be the game changer? (Video)

Victor Moses’ move from Wigan to Chelsea was seen as one of the stranger moves of the Summer Transfer Window, supposedly to be back up to the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar who had already signed on at the club. However, considering his impact (albeit off the bench) so far this season, he could be one of Chelsea’s most dangerous weapons throughout the season.
