5 players Arsenal should sign in January

We are entering that period in time when we can properly analyse the impact of signings made in the summer but also look forward to who clubs will try and sign in January. There is always speculation, it just isn't football without rumours, and plenty have been flying around at Arsenal. It started out with Marco Reus, Ilkay Gundogan and Lars Bender being lined up for potential moves in January but those rumours quickly dissipated. However, the Marco Reus rumour stuck around for a little while longer. Jackson Martinez, Miroslave Klose, Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski have also been in the news recently with Arsenal said to be interested. Anyway who should Arsenal try and sign?

    A Tribute To Olivier Giroud - Arsenal's Goal-Getter

After Robin Van Persie was sold to Manchester United in August 2012, a lot of expectation and weight was left on the shoulders of new Frenchman at the Emirates, Olivier Giroud.

Is Olivier Giroud An Unlikely Hero At Arsenal?

At times, Olivier Giroud may seem like the kind of centre forward to play for a Tony Pulis or Sam Allardyce side.  That statement intends no offence to the player or either manager, instead just reflecting an unavoidable point regarding the sheer physical power the striker possesses.

The Importance Of Theo Walcott To Arsenal

I've been inspired by yesterday's post for my three video blogs for today because I love pointing out, and almost realising myself on some occasions, how important a player is to a team. Today I have a visual aid to assist me, and the player who I have chosen is Theo Walcott. The 24-year-old has been at the centre of criticism for most of his career at Arsenal after bursting on to the scene as a 16-year-old. The reason for this is, until last season, he was very inconsistent and fans started to worry that all of the potential he had as a 16-year-old was already reached by the age of 23/24. However, last season he proved many critics wrong by being Arsenal's top goal scorer with 14 goals. He also grabbed 12 assists in the Premier League also.

Do Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures At Arsenal?

Six minutes into the Premier League season and Arsene Wenger would have been feeling fairly good about his team. Olivier Giroud had put the Gunners ahead in their tie against Aston Villa, and most fans in the stadium would have been expecting more goals to come. The following 20 minutes did see further reasons for encouragement, but the ball didn't end up in the back of the Villa net.

Arsenal Youngsters Who Could Make The Step Up This Season

As we all know, Arsene Wenger loves to unearth gems from around the world and they are usually young. His extensive scouting network has allowed him to bring in talent from South America, North America, Asia, Africa and of course Europe. Perhaps the more favourable destination for his scouts is sunny Spain - in a certain Catalonia area where a certain Spanish team play their football, to be more precise. Anyway, Wenger is very good at buying young talent and selling them for large fees in the future. Henry, Fabregas, Adebayor, Nasri etc... You get the picture. In this piece I will evaluate who in the Arsenal youth set up will possibly make the step up this season.

Why Luis Suarez is Perfect for Arsenal (Video)

As the Luis Suarez saga continues to drag on , it left me thinking whether this was the right move for Arsenal or not. Suarez is going to cost Arsenal at least £40 million pounds but there is no doubt in my mind that he is worth it. His displays last season were sensational and even attracted the attention of Real Madrid.

    The potential that Arsenal possess

I got thinking about the wonderful and fruitful relationship that Olivier Giroud and Luis Suarez could form up front for Arsenal, if the supposed transfer talk is true, that is.

    Will Arsenal really spend big?

Recent reports suggest that current Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is about to join Arsenal in a £25m deal and that the Argentine will be offered £130,000 per week. If this is true, and the transfer is completed shortly, then does this mean that the extremely tight purse strings at the Emirates are about to be loosened during the coming months or is this going to be the only expensive acquisition made by Arsene Wenger in preparation for the new season?

Player power - has it gone too far?

Earlier this season, Theo Walcott declared that signing a new contract was dependent upon whether Arsenal would play him as a striker. He initially turned down a lucrative 5 year contract extension and claimed that the issue was not the money but whether he would be used in his preferred position.
Although his case may have been legitimate, how many other players are likely to use this reason as an excuse to force a transfer from their current club or as a bargaining tool to negotiate a pay rise?
