Arsenal and Chelsea boosted as Madrid seeks to find replacement

This would come as a welcome boost for Arsenal and Chelsea. Reports from Spanish newspaper El Confidencial have reported that Champions League winners Real Madrid are on the look put of Wolfsburg’s Brazilian midfielder Luis Gustavo. This comes as a major development and would certainly hint at Sami Khedira’s contract situation at the Bernabeu. Both Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in the Wolf Cup winner but those rumours which had gathered pace in the middle of July broke off after neither of the English giants.

Khedira’s contract at the Spanish capital is set tend in the coming summer and with Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich are also interested the Tunisian born is caught in transfer tussle between three clubs.  The 27-year-old Khedira would be an ideal signing for Arsenal with manager Arsene Wenger fully on the lookout to enhance his squad depth.

So why have Real moved early for Gustavo who did quite a good job for Brazil in the World Cup? There is no doubt that the player acts a true defensive midfielder screening his defense while his passing ability is second to none.  So with Khedira yet to sign a contract extension and the arrival of Toni Kroos at the Galacticos it appears Carlo Ancelotii has the frowns on his forehead and hence wants to sign a replacement before they are out of ‘depth.’ This in a different tilted angle certainly means Khedira’s time is well and truly over at the Spanish giants.

As far as Gustavo is concerned, the 26 year old joined Wolfsburg  at the beginning of the 2013-14 season when he was deemed surplus to requirements  at the Allianz Arena. La Liga winners who have endured a mass exodus of their players already to Chelsea are also contemplating a bid for Gustvao, the Rojiblancos who earlier failed to sign Gustavo as Wolfsburg offered the player a salary of €4.5m per season.

Arsenal’s needs of a central defensive midfielder are well documented and with the Morgan Schneiderlin rumours dying down over the past weeks, who knows if the Khedira bid could just revive itself before the transfer window slams shut?

Chelsea offered Manchester United target for World Cup winner

According to reports in Madrid based daily MARCA, Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle could be headed to Atletico Madrid with Brazilian defender Miranda heading the other way to Stamford Bridge. The Rojiblancos have well and fully understood the price of success with their major players Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois all joining Chelsea in what would be rightly called a mass exodus.

Manager Diego Simeone however has acted quickly in the transfer market to acquire French sensation  Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad and is now on the prowl to sign German midfielder Schurrle whose assist for Mario Gotze at the Maracana against Argentina won the World Cup for the Die Mannschaft.  Schurrle has primarily been a bit part-player for Jose Mourinho, with his majority of appearances coming from the bench.

The 23 year old former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has hit the back of the net 8 times and grabbed a couple of assists in 30 outings for the Blues from London. However it is believed that his enormous work rate that has convinced Simeone to land him at the Vicente Calderon by offering Manchester United target Miranda to Chelsea.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United’s need for a central defender are well documented and MARCA reported a couple of days ago that Mourinho is insistent to sign Miranda and is set to offer €25m for the player.  The Brazilian has the same super agent as Costa and Luis, i.e Jorge Mendes and Mourinho is confident that a deal can be agreed upon. Chelsea were earlier interested in Raphael Varane after their pursuit of Roma’s Mehdi Benatia had hit a roadblock but it is believed that Real Madrid have no intentions in selling the young Frenchman with Pepe entering his early thirties.

Miranda however has a €30m release clause and should both Chelsea and Atletico agree on a deal, the English giants will have to pay some significant cash worth around €10m and also allowing Schurrle to witch loyalties for the La Liga winners. Finally after breaking the Real Madrid and Barcelona hegemony in Spain last season can the Rojiblancos defy the odds and defend their title successfully?

Nigerian Forward Could Leave The Blues - Why Victor Moses Is Not Good Enough For Chelsea

It is all quiet on the Chelsea front in terms of transfer rumours. There is the odd article here and there, but nothing like it was when Cesc Fabregas joined or when rumours of Diego Costa picked up. They have been linked with Paul Pogba in recent days, but that turned out to be speculative journalism after the Football Manager saga the player got himself involved in. When discussing transfers away from the club, things have been very quiet. There is really just Romelu Lukaku occupying those reports.

Any young player who breaks through within a football club’s exceedingly competitive ranks always deserves the recognition of his achievements. Chelsea: THREE Brazil Players That Mourinho Should Be Moving For This Summer

Chelsea currently have three players in the Brazil World Cup squad and have just sold David Luiz to Paris Saint Germain, so there is an obvious link between the club and country. Oscar, Willian and Ramires are the trio of Brazilians currently competing at the World Cup, but here are three more than I think Jose Mourinho should be moving for this summer.

After watching England lost to Italy in their World Cup opener on Saturday evening, almost everyone had an opinion on where Roy Hodgson's men went wrong. Wayne Rooney was one of the worst performers, and Jose Mourinho has chipped in with his thoughts on why the Manchester United forward is struggling for the national side.

Modric To Follow Fabregas To Chelsea? Why Signing Former Spurs Midfielder Would Make Blues Premier League Favourites

Despite landing a blow to bitter London rivals Arsenal by signing Cesc Fabregas, it seems as though Chelsea will be moving for former Totteham favourite Luka Modric. The Real Madrid pass-master is currently at the World Cup with Croatia, but if he was to sign for the Stamford Bridge this summer then I would suggest that they would be favourites for the Premier League title next season.

Green Light: Real Madrid Ready To Swoop For Chelsea General - I Think They Should Let Him Go

Real Madrid are usually a club who get who they want when it comes to player recruitment. They have boasted some of the best players in the world, including Brazilian Ronaldo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Figo, Raul, David Beckham and most recently Gareth Bale. Zinedine Zidane and Roberto Carlos are also notable names. Now they have apparently been given the green light to swoop for Chelsea midfielder Ramires.

Twitter Reacts: Arsenal Fans Vent Their Anger Over Chelsea Signing Fabregas

When Fabregas upped sticks and left his boyhood club Barcelona to join the Arsenal youth ranks, no one could have known how much impact he would have at the club. After over 300 first team appearances and 57 for the Gunners he returned to Camp Nou, only to sign for Arsenal's London rivals Chelsea this week. Needless to say, those affiliated with the Emirates club aren't too happy.

Cesc Fabregas completed his move to Chelsea yesterday after weeks of being linked to various different Premier League clubs, such as Manchester United and his former club Arsenal. The news of his arrival at Stamford Bridge sparked an onslaught of abuse by Gunners across the globe, though that was met by smug remarks from Chelsea and Tottenham fans.

Chelsea Forward Rejects West Ham - Why He Was Right To Do So

Romelu Lukaku now has two successful Premier League seasons under his belt and will be looking to make his mark in the first team next season. Having scored 17 league goals for West Brom and then 16 for Everton, I think it is time for the big Belgian forward to be unleashed at Stamford Bridge.

Forget Neymar, This Chelsea Playmaker Was The Star In Brazil's World Cup Opener

Last night we saw the start of the 2014 Brazil World Cup, with the hosts beating Croatia 3-1 to go top of group A. It was far from plain sailing though. Marcelo scored an own goal in the early stages of the game before Neymar equalised for the Samba men. A controversial penalty, converted by Neymar, and a last gasp Oscar goal completed the scoring, and although the former will get the headlines, the latter was my man of the match.

Modric In, Ramires Out? Why Chelsea Should Swap Brazilian Misfit For Real Madrid Pass-Master

Some exciting news now for Chelsea fans - the Express are suggesting that Jose Mourinho is ready to offer Ramires to Real Madrid in exchange for former Tottenham maestro Luka Modric. I rate the Brazilian highly, but I think Modric could be the final piece in the puzzle for the west London club.

In The Bag: Chelsea Want To Announce £27m Midfielder This Week, But How Would It Affect The Current Crop?

The Mirror are telling us that Chelsea think their signing of former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is in the bag, and are hoping to announce the deal this week. Whether that happens or not, I am excited about the prospect of the Spain international bossing the Chelsea midfield. But I can't help but wonder what it means for the rest of the team.
