Arsenal Fans Have No Right To Slam Fabregas After Chelsea Move

Cesc Fabregas completed his move to Chelsea yesterday after weeks of being linked to various different Premier League clubs, such as Manchester United and his former club Arsenal. The news of his arrival at Stamford Bridge sparked an onslaught of abuse by Gunners across the globe, though that was met by smug remarks from Chelsea and Tottenham fans.

The signing is obviously a strong one and in my opinion makes Chelsea favourites for the Premier League title next season. However, Arsenal had first refusal on his signature and Arsene Wenger decided that he didn't want to make a move.

So, what was Fabregas supposed to do? If Arsenal didn't want him, was he supposed to turn down the supposed mega bucks for a move to Chelsea, or potentially rot at Barcelona?

For me Arsenal fans have no argument on this one. Loyalty is rare in football and those precious Gooners need to realise that. It's a game. It's a business. Players do not care about the fans when certain clubs are whispering sweet nothings in their ear.

Barcelona didn't want him and neither did Arsenal. He has previously declared his love for the two but if they are rejecting his services then he has every right to do what he thinks is best for his career.

    And his wallet.

I'd suggest that a man is only as good as his morals. In 2010 he told anyone who wanted to listen that, and I paraphrase, "We could kill him if he ever wore a Chelsea shirt". If he'd gone to Man U, I wouldn't have been chuffed but would have had a lot more respect than I do now. He has moved to one of our arch rivals. Poor show.

I am an Arsenal fan and i totally agree with your comments. I don't think loyalty is at stake here, i think he did what he considers the best for him and i am happy he feels he has made the right decision. Arsenal said no, that may turn out to be a good decision, but i think he is great player and will help Chelsea be very successful next season.

I completely agree. I think Arsenal fans are being completely childish in throwing the toys out the pram over something of their own clubs doing. He gave them the opportunity to sign for them, but they refused. He has ambitions to play regular first team football, he wasn't getting it at camp Nou and the only other option was Man U which he didn't fancy because he has a house in London and is happy in the capital.

I'm sure Cesc is happy to see the true colours of the Arsenal fans burning his shirts. Just highlights how little class the gooners have. Loyalty is a two way street and they've sent him a clear message. I hope he leads the charge of another 6 nil demolition job next season.

Chelsea will happily include him as a huge part of their plans for the season, he got his future sorted before the world cup, so he can now focus on that with no distractions.

I am happy to see him at the Bridge and the player is happy too. Maybe he can be the catalyst in getting Torres fired up again aswell. Something I would love to see next season.

Clauses mean nothing if the player has no intention of joining you. What are the odds he's earning double at chelski?
    $$$
Just like RVP, he's chasing the money.

To be honest i don't really care where cesc plays. We have enough players for his position and I am glad we didn't sign him. In terms of loyalty there is no such thing in football. simple fact you go where the money is and Cesc did the fair play to him.

All this crap about arsenal turned him down, what did he expect after he forced his way out of arsenal and if did mean what he said after he left about how much he loves arsenal then he could have gone to another European team.

As for way the arsenal fans are acting, i feel that they have a right to feel let down but they will get over it.

I think Arsene will be blamed for not signing him and media will single this out as an example to put us down. for argument sake if Wenger did sign Cesc media and fans alike will moan we dont need another attacking midfield so he cant win.

What Arsenal need is a new Right back, DM, LW, striker and Keeper.

I'm not angry with Cesc, however, I have absolute zero respect for him! Did he not once say, he would only ever play for Arsenal or Barc? Maybe footballers really are stupid, he just got mixed up between the Barc blue to the Chelski blue? Either way, don't really care! We have enough quality in our team. Have fun playing boring defense under Moron-inho!

Arsenal fans can slam him all they want... He wasn't forced to sign for Chelsea.

Quite funny really. His first choice was Arsenal. Next it was Scumbags Utd but his Mrs told him "no way"! So he opts for Chelski as his THIRD option! There's real commitment to JM from a player simply wanting another massive pay day.

Long slippery road downhill which started with his national side being humiliated by the Dutch last night.

    Hahaha. Enjoy :-)
