Modric To Follow Fabregas To Chelsea? Why Signing Former Spurs Midfielder Would Make Blues Premier League Favourites

Despite landing a blow to bitter London rivals Arsenal by signing Cesc Fabregas, it seems as though Chelsea will be moving for former Totteham favourite Luka Modric. The Real Madrid pass-master is currently at the World Cup with Croatia, but if he was to sign for the Stamford Bridge this summer then I would suggest that they would be favourites for the Premier League title next season.

Chelsea have the strongest pairing of goalkeepers in the league by some distance, with Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois. They also have one of the meanest defences - they finished the season with the best record in the league and have added young star Kurt Zouma to that.

With Luka Modric, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in a midfield trio, I would go as far to say that no one in European football could match that for ability. Matic would be the deepest player of the three, breaking up play and giving the ball to the other two.

Modric would then be able to spray the ball about and open up gaps, with Fabregas being the most offensive of the trio, threading the key balls and creating the opportunities for the front men.

That's not forgetting the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Mohamed Salah, Andre Schurrle and a host of other attacking players.

Imagine if Diego Costa comes in on top of that.

I know where my money is going for the title winners next season.

Modric has stated he wants to finish his career at RM, it is the club he always wanted to play for and is you have seen him play he is as important as any player for them. He will not want to leave, and they will not let him go. Wishful thinking on the part of the author who seems to be on less than a nodding acquaintance with the truth.

As a Tottenham fan I think Modric has excelled in Spain even if half the moronic madrid fans dont appreciate what they have.... if he goes to chelski it will be because madrid need money to sign suarez but realistically cant see him wanting to play for chelski with their psycho manager, he already experiencied jumbo baby mourinho chucking toys in madrid, why put yourself through that nonsense again. Mourinho is increasingly becoming peculiar and seems more motivated to achieve some personal war against everybody who laughs at him (which is everybody bar john brown nose terry). Chelski are screwed next season, signing old farts like fabregas lol, what a joke, even wenger wouldn't have that talentless burnout back, he's another torres signing, another ballack, another shevchenko, a mercenary out to pocket some of abramobitchs corrrupt money... team of scum, owned by a scumbag and managed by the special scumbag.... supported by a bunch of scumbags... really you think Modric would suffer the indignity of joining that shower of p1ss?

Old players ve experiences dan academicians. Every club ve money bt they dont want to utilise it. Hw can that concern Abramovich nd chl?
