Step Up Ramsey: Why Arsenal Will Not Miss Injured Jack Wilshere

Arsenal will be without the services of their midfielder Jack Wilshere for the next six weeks after the 22-year-old fractured his foot during England's 1-0 narrow victory over Denmark.

Liverpool's Daniel Agger made the challenge at Wembley while the defender was in action for the Danish national side. Wilshere's time on sidelines will see him miss the Gunners' crucial games in all competitions.

Arsenal will face Everton in the FA Cup quarter finals tomorrow at the Emirates before taking on Bayern Munich in the return leg of the Champions League fixture at Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

This will be followed by the tough set of fixtures in the league as Arsene Wenger's men will face Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton in the next five league fixtures, with their tie against the Toffees scheduled on 6 April.

With Wilshere out for the next six weeks, will Arsenal really miss the England international's services during the tough set of fixtures in all competitions?

The midfielder would have given Wenger more options during his team selection, but his injury is not likely to have a major impact on the Emirates club. Wilshere has featured in 23 league games, scoring three and creating four more chances in the process, but in my eyes are unlikely to miss the Englishman during the upcoming fixtures.

Wenger has confirmed Arsenal's star midfielder Aaron Ramsey and January loan signing Kim Kallstrom will be available for the north London derby on 16 March, which is a huge boost.

Mikel Arteta can play the role of the holding midfielder while Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Luks Podolski can feature in the attacking midfield position, with either of them playing on the wings and behind the striker.

The versatile attacking midfield players available at the Emirates have made Arsenal quite comfortable in Wilshere's absence previously. However, the important question is can Wenger once again find the balance in the team that yields success.

Defeat in the next three successive fixtures could see them end their hopes of winning a silverware this season, and that would be a disaster for all involved.

Ramsey's return to the side is a massive boost ahead of the next couple of months, but whether or not he can turn in the sort of performances that we are now used to from him is a different matter.
