Chelsea Star Linked With Departure - Here's Why Mourinho Should Let Him Leave

The legendary Carles Puyol is hanging up his boots after the World Cup this summer, so Barcelona have renewed their interest in Chelsea’s David Luiz as a long term replacement, apparently

The deal for the Brazilian International fell through last summer, but I believe this time Jose Mourinho will let him go.  John Terry is in fine form for Chelsea and with the recent recruits of French central defender Kurt Zouma and defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic, Mourinho knows he can afford to make moves.

So would David Luiz be missed?  I don’t believe in keeping a player tied to a club when another club comes knocking, but you do sense David Luiz would relish the opportunity to join Barcelona, so Mourinho has to let the player go in my eyes.

Yes he has scored some important goals for Chelsea and has potential to be a great name at Stamford Bridge, but his form hasn’t always been consistent and Mourinho knows that.

You can see that Matic is looking increasingly comfortable in the holding role in front of John Terry and Gary Cahill when they play together, so it could form part of a solid, new look Chelsea side next season. It will also allow the outstanding Hazard and Oscar more freedom than ever to terrorise in going forward.  With Romelu Lukaku likely to spearhead the Chelsea attack next season, even the neutral football fan is keeping an eye on Mourinho’s master plan.

You said, "I don’t believe in keeping a player tied to a club when another club comes knocking". Let me ask you, do you believe Messi should be allowed to leave since Man City and PSG have been knocking on the door? All the comments by Luiz Has been he is happy at Chelsea unless you have a video where he said he wants to leave Chelsea. No club should allow a player leave because another club came knocking! Unless you are trying to say Chelsea should allow their players leave because Barca came knocking! Which would be extremely rude and insulting don't you think..

In the sense that IF David Luis liked the idea of a new challenge at Barcelona (who wouldn't?) then a club shouldn't keep a player in a team whose heart is elsewhere.

Just a rumour and an opinion Cyril!

Anything can happen in football. Two words..... Luis Figo.
