Arsenal Are Out Of Title Race And Could Struggle For 4th Place - Here's Why

This was supposed to be their season. The season that they ended the eight year drought, and the season when the empty trophy cabinets will finally be filled with some sort of silverware. What looked promising for the first five months is fast turning into despair. In fact, it is looking like a fight for fourth between them and their north London rivals Tottenham yet again. Come May it will be 9 years without any trophies for Arsenal, and that's not good enough.

The month of February has been their make or break for the Gunners in the past few seasons. And this year was no different, with tough games in the league as well as Europe. But it was the same old story as they surrendered top spot and are also on the verge of going out in Europe. However, if they thought that the worst was over, they were wrong.

In recent years, Arsenal's week from hell has been an annual event for Arsenal fans, even though Arsenal may have delayed the inevitable this year. The dreadful week tends to take place around mid February when the first leg of the Champion's league second round is played in quick succession with the 5th round FA Cup tie (2012/13- Blackburn and Bayern, 2011/12- AC Milan and Sunderland, 2010/11- Barcelona and Manchester Utd etc).

However this season, the 'week from hell' may occur at later date of 8th March when they welcome Everton in the FA Cup, which proved in December to be a much tougher test than what everybody expected.

Then, three days later, Arsenal fly to Munich to play their second leg tie against Bayern Munich where they have the task of over-turning a two-goal deficit. And if that wasn't bad enough, Arsenal have the small task of the north London derby at White Hart Lane.

In the space of a week the Gunners may see themselves out of both cup competitions and seven points behind in the title race. And if you are one of those optimistic people in life and think over-turning a seven-point lead is a possibility for a team that hasn't won anything in over eight years, then you may want to stop reading now.

Arsenal's next four fixtures after the spurs game include: Chelsea (A), Swansea City (H),  Manchester City (H) and Everton (A). If these fixtures are anything to go by, one might begin to question whether they will even make the top 4.

U just said Arsenal are out of the pl race
    and this is crazy
    u sound retarded
    so shut it maybe

"..then you may want to stop reading now." The only subsequent information is Arsenal's next fixtures. Two mere sentences. Maybe you should have opened your article with that line, instead of using it to wrap it up. Smooth.

You are absolutely right and as long as the fans do not exercise pressure, as it would happen with other big european clubs, to get rid of Wenger things will not change.
