Trio Of Contract Renewals Will Boost Arsenal

The London Evening Standard has reported that Wales captain Aaron Ramsey is set to sign a new 5 year deal at the Emirates for £100,000 a week.

Arsenal have already confirmed new deals for German central defender per Mertesacker and Czech Republic attacking midfield player Tomas Rosicky earlier this week, which in my eyes can only help the club's cause for future silverware.

Arsene Wenger's men have hit a bit of a slump in recent weeks but this news can give a much needed boost for the fans going into next season.

Aaron Ramsey, who is currently on the sidelines but expected back after the FA Cup tie with Everton, has been in sensational form. He was the catalyst for many of the good results earlier on in the campaign and he appears to be Wenger's preferred deep lying central midfielder alongside Mathieu Flamini.

The three signings are expected to be unveiled at a press conference in the next couple of days and will only help provide some squad stability. In the past, the Arsenal hierarchy have been heavily criticised for letting notable stars leave on the cheap due to inadequate contract negotiations, so it'll be a huge boost.

Robin Van Persie, who left for Manchester United in 2012, was the most recent example of the club being held to ransom by player power, but with this news there is optimism for the future.
