Why Lukas Podolski Should Leave Arsenal

I'm undecided on Lukas Podolski and his impact at Arsenal. On one hand, his clinical nature has been a very welcome addition, but on the other he doesn't often complete the full 90 minutes and has been injured for a sizeable chunk of his career at Arsenal. With interest coming from Inter Milan, supposedly, it could result in the German attacker leaving the north London club. IBI Times have reported that while Inter Milan officials were in London, discussing a move for Bacary Sagna, they also enquired into Podolski's availability.

Most Arsenal fans will not want to see him leave due to his popularity in the team and because of his comical nature. The supporters have warmed to him, and vice versa. He's also extremely clinical in the penalty box and loves a powerful, long range drive.

However, now might be the time that the Gunners cash in on their loveable German - for a couple of reasons.

Even when the country isn't in the grips of a transfer window there are still rumours flying around all day and every day. For Arsenal, it has been no different as they've been linked with over dozen names in the past week. Unfortunately for Podolski, these players play in his position. Antoine Griezmann and Julian Draxler are the big names to be linked and both occupy his position. They're both much younger and have made a bigger contribution to their team this season. If one of those two arrive, it would surely limit the amount of game time Lukas Podolski gets even further.

Arsene Wenger, despite the availability of Podolski, has used him sparingly. Not starting him when it seems wiser to do so or not bringing him on at all. Yes, he has had his injury problems but Wenger seems set on leaving Podolski out as much as possible.

It's a very strange case that Podolski should remedy quickly to stop it boiling over.
