Manchester United Flop Linked With Premier League Return - What Could He Offer?

Sky Sports reports that former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf, who will be a free agent in the summer, has been linked with two Premier League clubs.

Despite Hannover’s best attempts, Diouf has refused to renew his contract with the German club and will end his two year stint in the Bundesliga in the summer.

Diouf has certainly fared better during his time in Germany than he did in England, with 26 goal in 56 appearances his current return.

It has been a difficult season for Diouf and Hannover. He is their top scorer in the German topflight with seven goals and Hannover sit mid-table, seven points above the relegation places.

Cardiff City and Stoke City are two clubs that have a supposed interest in the Senegalese striker and to snap him up on a free transfer would be a great piece of business.

Out of the two, I would say that Cardiff would be the club that needed him most, especially if they were to stay in the Premier League next year.

Frazer Campbell offers a runner in behind and Kenwyne Jones offers a target man but Diouf has both attributes not to mention a better strike rate.

I think Diouf has definitely developed his game since leaving Old Trafford back in 2012 and another chance at the Premier League with a smaller club may be exactly what he need to develop again.
