Chelsea Striker Linked With Summer Exit - Here's Why Mourino Should Get Rid

The Daily Mail has reported that Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is still wanted by Inter, who are trying to rebuild their squad. But is a move right for Torres?

It has been another average season for the Spaniard, which has seen him struggle to rediscover the form that made him the deadly striker he was at Liverpool. Torres has only scored four goals in his 21 Premier League appearances this season and has seen less pitch time since the arrival of Samuel Eto’o in the summer.

Irrespective of his form, the name of Fernando Torres will always carry respect because of his scoring rate at Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and with the Spanish national side.

Inter Milan are well in the fight for a Europa League spot next year and can already boast the signing of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic.

Although he has struggled to make the expected impact at Chelsea and live up to that £50 million price tag, Torres has scored some vital goals for Chelsea in big moments.

However, after suffering lateral ligament damage and continual problems with his hamstrings, Torres has lost much of his electric pace that used to terrorise defenders. But the Italian league is not played at the same velocity. I believe Torres would do well, one thing that a striker never loses is their instinct of where to be and with the right service he could still be deadly.

Mourinho wants a world class striker, unfortunately for Torres his days at Stamford Bridge are numbered.
