Manchester United Target Sensible To Snub A Move To Old Trafford - Here's Why

It is being reported in the Mirror that Manchester United boss David Moyes is ready to offer in excess of £35 million for French midfield player Paul Pogba. The article also suggests, however, that Pogba is holding out for a move to Real Madrid.

For me, this would be a very sensible move on Pogba's part.

The Juventus powerhouse, who endured a tough time at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson, clearly has reservations about his former club, who themselves have flattered to deceive for most part this season. United currently sit in seventh place after 29 games, five points outside a European spot.

Pogba has been in brilliant form once again this season for the current Italian champions. At just 21 he has become the embodiment of reliability and they will surely fight tooth and nail to keep him.

If Pogba was to go on record and request a move I am sure Juve would dig their heels in and demand much more than the £35 Million being quoted today, That's not forgetting that we are in a World Cup year, which tends to inflate the prices of players.

It has been reiterated by some fans and various executives, and even ex players, that they expect Moyes to succeed at Old Trafford, and have on several occasions used that wonderful phrase "club in transition" to describe the Red Devils.

To me though, Moyes' United look like a club on the decline and they face a very difficult period ahead. The club were rightfully criticised by fans for their slack approach to the transfer market last summer and if they do not buck their ideas up it will be much of the same next time out.
