Nicklas Bendtner: The World's Stupidest Footballer?

Nicklas Bendtner often leaves you speechless. Not in the same way Dennis Bergkamp, for example, left you speechless with his incredible touch and skill. No, it is Bendtner's outlandish behaviour off the pitch that regularly makes us wonder if he is indeed the world's stupidest footballer.

Of course, we all remember his own assertion that he is the 'greatest striker that ever lived' and similar, quite frankly, bonkers statements have made him a great quote machine.

It is not just his mouth that leads to controversy, either, as Bendtner landed himself in hot water by pulling down his shorts to reveal his boxers were sponsored by a certain Irish bookmakers during his celebration after scoring a goal for Denmark at Euro 2012.

So, it was of no surprise whatsoever when news emerged  this week of Bendtner's rather silly behaviour this week in Copenhagen as he team exited the Champions League at hands of Bayern Munich in Germany. Apparently, Bendtner took an unauthorised visit to his home land to catch up with some friends and watch the game in a bar. As you do.

It seems, however, that Bendtner had one too many Danish ales. Following the game he and his friends decided to take a taxi to the next venue but the taxi driver notice Bendtner was far too drunk for that and refused to serve him. This didn't please the Arsenal striker and he, somehow, ended up rubbing his body all over the bonnet of the car.

Those dots denote you losing your speech. It truly is bizarre and his the Denmark international's reputation has taken yet another battering.
