Gerrard Believes Liverpool Can Win The League - Here's Why He Has A Right To

Steven Gerrard has won just about everything there is to win at Liverpool. He has picked up three League Cups, two FA Cups, two Community Shields, two Super Cups, a UEFA Cup and that elusive Champions League trophy that he picked up in 2005. But there is still one piece of silverware missing from his cabinet, and that's the Premier League.

Although he has played almost 700 games for the Reds he has never come close to winning the Premier League title, which is something that he will be desperate to change. However, he believes that this season could be the season that they do just that, after Liverpool beat Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford today.

Gerrard said to the BBC, "We've showed that we are genuine contenders and we are going to fight to the end for this. We believe that we can win the league."

I honestly believe they are in with a shout, too.

They have a solid goalkeeper, a midfield packed with creative talent and possess the Premier League's top two scorers in Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge. Their backline needs a little tweaking but as they proved today, they are extremely difficult to break down when they want to be.

The main thing they have in their locker though is a manager who has got Anfield believing again. Brendan Rodgers has stamped his own mark on the club and the bosses are reaping the rewards of that, with a host of young players coming through playing brilliant football.

Liveprool are currently four points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand, but are level with third Place Arsenal on points. They are ahead of the Gunners on goal difference, though.

Why can't those associated with the club begin to believe?
