Moyes Should Drop Kagawa From Starting XI For Liverpool Clash - Here's Why

Manchester United face three big games in their next four fixtures in all competitions. The English champions host Liverpool for the Premier League tie on Sunday before facing Olympiakos in the second leg of the Champions League tie on Wednesday evening at Old Trafford.

After the European fixture, within a week United take on Manchester City in a league fixture at home. With three crucial fixtures lined up ahead for David Moyes' side, United manager needs to choose his starting lineup wisely in all three games.

United have been doing well with January signing Juan Mata on the right and Adnan Januzaj on the left wing, with Wayne Rooney playing behind Robin van Persie in the attacking front.

For me, the former Everton manager needs to start Shinji Kagawa from the bench from Liverpool.

Football Friends Online brings you why Moyes needs to start the former Borussia Dortmund star from the bench against the Merseyside club on Sunday.

Kagawa has been know for technique and ability over other attacking players at Old Trafford from the current squad, keeping Januzaj aside. Mata is already featured in the Champions League with his former club Chelsea and hence the Spain international is cup tied.

With the former Chelsea star unavailable for the fixture against Olympiakos, the former Everton manager is likely to opt for Mata and Januzaj on the flanks for the fixture against Liverpool on Sunday. Moyes needs to bring Kagawa from the bench in order to give him more game time, which could prove vital in the European fixture.

United have failed to win the first leg, losing 2-0 to the Greek champions away from home. Moyes and his men have a tough task ahead of them to turn things around in order to progress to the last eight of the competition.

Kagawa, along with Rooney and Van Persie, are the key players for United to turn things around as the trio needs to step up. Should the Japanese playmaker start against Liverpool, there is a possibility of fatigue affecting him for the midweek tie against the Greek outfit.

The playmaker has been struggling with fitness and his appearances have been limited in recent times. Moyes has confirmed that fans will get to see a lot of Kagawa in the remaining fixtures left this season, though.

Will Kagawa start from the bench on Sunday against Liverpool? Time alone will tell us. However, the Japan international's inclusion in the midweek Champions League game could help United in progressing to the next stages of Europe's elite club competition.
