Chelsea Favourites, But Mourinho Still Doubts Blues' Title Credentials - Here's Why He's Wrong

Chelsea took advantage of teams around them having a weekend off from Premier League proceedings by thumping a wary Tottenham side 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourinho is still insisting Manchester City and Arsenal are favourites ahead of his Chelsea side though, who now find themselves a whole seven points clear at the summit of the Premier League.

This is clearly Mourinho trying to protect his players and deflect any pressure from them, maybe Arsene Wenger had a point when he suggested that Mourinho could well have a fear of failure.

Anyone and everyone outside of the club would be mad to make anyone but Chelsea title favourites, as previously mentioned they are seven points clear. Yes Manchester City do have 3 games in hand and winning those would see them ahead of the pack, but at this time of the season you would always settle for having the points in the bag than relying on games in hand. These will also come thick and fast with almost 2 games a week up til the final day.

Mourinho also claims that it would be a shock if Manchester City did not win the Premier League due to their spending power and quality. He seems to forget what ability he has at his disposal. The likes of Eden Hazard, has been somewhat their guiding light this season, Andre Schurrle and Samuel Eto'o have all hit form at the right time. Lets not forget the ageing John Terry who has been instrumental in their encouraging defensive performances all season.

Skybet now have Chelsea 10/11 to lift the Title and it would be hard to make an argument for any other outcome.
