95 Clean Sheets In 182 Games: Should This Goalkeeper Be A Target For Premier League Clubs?

Celtic's Record breaking England Goalkeeper has been catching the eye of many for a few seasons now with big performances against the likes of Barcelona in the Champions League.

Forster, who kept a 13th successive clean sheet against Hearts at the weekend, is looking to break Edwin van Der Sar's Premier League clean sheet record with two more.

But is it time Forster moved to a stronger league to improve his International career?

There have been many rumours in the last two transfer windows of big European clubs lining up bids for the 6ft 7 in goalkeeper but no solid negotiations have taken place, apparently.

It is clear to me that playing in such a uncompetitive league has really damaged Forster's chances in breaking into the England squad.  Thus far there has been only one international cap to his name and you have to ask the question is this because of the league he plies his trade in.

England managers and various media pundits have previous for this league elitism - back in 2007 when David Beckham signed for LA Galaxy many pundits wrote off the midfield player's chances to compete at the International level as the caps started to dry up Beckham was slowly replaced.

I would personally like to see Forster in the Premier League, he would be a great acquisition for any top side in Europe in my eyes.

The Hexham born shot stopper has kept 95 clean sheets in 182 appearances for Celtic and although many will label the strength of opposition for this impressive stat, but you can only beat what is put in front of you.
