Top10 - Number 1: Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid)

Probably the most talked about centre-forward in the world right now.

We have been lucky enough to be able to witness the greatness of the Colombia international and his ability to tear La Liga to shreds with his sheer strength and instinct in front of goal. Ranging from the ridiculous long-ranged screamers to the fox-in-the-box style tap-ins from a few yards out, Falcao is now considered the best in the world in his position.

After scoring 72 goals in 87 games for Portuguese outfit Porto, he made a big money move to Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has continued to goal-gobbling ventures, scoring 56 in 66 up until the point of writing this. During Atletico's fixture with Deportivo in December of 2012, Falcao became the first player in over a decade to score 5 goals in a La Liga game when he took it upon himself to demolish Deportivo La Caruna and send the majority of Europe into raptures of applause.

Could we see the forward strutting his stuff in a Chelsea shirt soon?

    Top10 - Number 2: David Villa (Barcelona)

When it was announced that David Villa could be on his way to the Premier League for £16m this month, many expectant spectators considered it as a belated Christmas present.

Villa has been one of the greatest strikers in Europe over the last few years and only an unfortunate leg-break has deterred him from becoming one of the best in the world. His phenomenal  positioning and ability to score from almost anywhere on the pitch gives him the advantage over so many others and he could be exactly what Arsenal need to give their season a new spice of life.

Along with the Emirates outfit, both Manchester City and Chelsea are both said to be interested in taking him under their wing for the said fee, and if the Barcelona striker is interested in a switch to sunny England, then we are in for a real treat.

Top10 - Number 3: Stephan El Shaarawy (AC Milan)

Whenever a new youngster burst onto the scene of world football you can bet your bottom dollar that Arsene Wenger has been receiving reports on him for at least a few years, or so he tells us, before eventually being linked with the player once again.

This is what happened to AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy after he set Europe alight with his dazzling, forward-thinking creativity and his notable goal record for the San Siro outfit. Having just turned 20-years-old and already with 14 goals in 18 games this campaign, he has caused quite a stir in the transfer speculation world. Although it would probably take a massive offer for Milan to even think about accepting, the newly capped Italian may see the recent demise of his club as a reason to jump ship to the Premier League.

    Top10 - Number 4: Edinson Cavani (Napoli)

Edinson Cavani's goal-scoring record speaks for itself. The Uruguayan international has scored 85 goals in 114 for his current side Napoli and his incredible form over the last few years has seen him cause many debate whether or not he could take the Premier League to another level.

Although it has been Chelsea that have been leading the race to capture his signature, Manchester Cityand Liverpool have also been linked with a cheeky move for him. Cavani was an integral part of the Uruguay side that finished in 4th place in the 2010 World Cup and he helped his country to triumph in the 2011 Copa America whilst scoring 13 goals in his 45 appearance for La Celeste.

Surely it is only a matter of time before we see the famous floppy hair flowing in the Lancashire-wind on a wet Wednesday evening.

Top10 - Number 5: Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao)

It is common knowledge that Fernando Llorente will be leaving Bilbao, it is just a question of when, and with the likes of Arsenal and London rivals Tottenham both keeping tabs on the target man, a move to the Premier League wouldn't be a shock to anybody.

One of the most impressive headerers of a ball I have seen, and add that to the technique and goal-getting record that the big Spaniard boasts and it makes him an attractive prospect for any potential buyers. The only stumbling block for a switch could be the age of Llorente, who turns 28 next month and therefore looks less appealing to those trying to build an empire of young talent to keep the wheels turning for years to come.

Nevertheless, The 6ft5 forward would be a fantastic signing for anyone looking to add goals into their squad, there is no question about that.

Top10 - Number 6: Majeed Waris (Spartak Moscow)

A little, nippy forward originating from Ghana is what Majeed Waris can be, fairly, described as, but there is so much more to his game than that.

The Spartak Moscow striker has an impeccable eye for goal, coupled with defence-damaging movement which allows him to easily whippet past anyone brave enough to try and match him for pace. Also, despite his 5ft8 frame, he is surprisingly good at using his springy jumping ability to attack the ball with his head.

My first reaction to when I heard there may be a possibility that we could see Majeed in the Premier League was surely it is Chelsea that are trying to capture him, after all, his pace and link-up play could easily blend with the nimble dexterity that the Blues currently hold, but it was in fact the two Manchester clubs who were rumoured with the 21-year-old.

Top10 - Number 7: Wissam Ben Yedder (Toulouse)

Next up is the 22-year-old Wissam Ben Yedder who plays his football for Toulouse. A Frenchman with Tunisian descent, Ben Yedder has been largely linked with a transfer to Liverpool this window because of the admiration Reds' boss Brendan Rodgers holds for the forward.

He has notched up 9 goals in just 15 starts in the current Ligue 1 season, 36% of his teams total. He has a handful of caps for the France U21 side and is expected to make the jump to the senior side in the near future, something which will surely increase the interest in the striker.

The deal may only be rumours right now and they have been somewhat thrown up in the air as Liverpool have secured the services of Chelsea man Daniel Sturridge, but the young man has a similar playing-style to what would be his striking partner, Luis Suarez.

Top10 - Number 8 Imoh Ezekiel (Standard Liege)

A name you may have heard of but might not know a lot about, Imoh Ezekiel is beginning to sculpt his dream of becoming a professional footballer.

Born in Nigeria, the 19-year-old started playing with his local team before making the switch to Belgian outfit Standard Liege and, unsurprisingly to many, has hit the ground running by scoring 7 in his first 13 permanent appearance for the club. Considering his circumstances Ezekiel is unlikely to make a move to England during the January transfer window, but you never know if he could be lured by the fortunes of the riches of the Premier League.

Top10 - Number 9: Mario Madzukic (Bayern Munich)

The Croatia international continues to go from strength to strength in his impressive career, backed-up by his 9th goal in 15 appearance for Bayern Munich so far this season. During the absence of Mario Gomez due his time on the sidelines, coach Jupp Heynckes relied upon his new number 9, and Gomez's namesake, Mario Mandzukic.

He was justly rewarded and the goals kept on coming as the 26-year-old displayed his remarkable talent. Whether it was from a header, from 25-yards or a matter of inches, the striker was on hand to put it in the back of the net and has warranted interest from both Manchester clubs, as well as Spurs and Everton more recently.

Top 10 - Number 10: Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Shakhtar Donetsk)

You may well be thinking 'who?' and you will not be alone. The Armenia international has helped himself to 18 goals in 17 games this season for his side Shakhtar Donetsk and another 2 in cup competitions, spring-boarding himself to near the top of the goal scoring chart of European football.

Whispers circulating around the rumour-mongers are that both Chelsea and Spurs are looking at making bid for the 23-year-old, though it be that we have to wait until the season end before he arrives in the country. There is no doubt that the boy is a great talent, however whether he could adapt to the fast pace of the English topflight is yet to be seen.
