Newcastle unlikely to re-sign tall man, or anybody else

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted it is unlikely the Magpies will make a move to bring Liverpool striker Andy Carroll back to St James' Park before the transfer window closes.

Carroll has seen his Liverpool future plunge into limbo since the new arrival of Brendan Rodgers and the England striker has been linked with a move to West Ham, although the 23 year old would reportedly favour a return to the North East.

However, Pardew says a move for Carroll is not on the agenda, or any other targets for that matter, as the manager says all possible targets remain secure at their current clubs.
