Berbatov on his way

Manchester United outcast Dimitar Berbatov is nearing an end to his 4 year-long spell with the club by verging closer to a deal with Italian club Fiorentina.

The Bulgarian had fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford since the signing of Robin Van Persie joined Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney over the summer, so Fiorentina have agreed personal terms with the striker over a £4 million deal.

The 31 year old ends a summer of speculation with a move that comes in a fraction of the £30 million that United spent on him four years ago, but the Red Devils have been forced to sell the player who has entered the final year of his contract.
