Ex-Arsenal star claims he was forced out by the club

A recently-departed Arsenal player has claimed he want to stay at the club and has been forced out.

Alex Song has claimed he only left the Emirates as the Gunners would not talk to him about a new deal at the club.

The 24-year-old left for Barcelona earlier in the month in a £15million deal but he claims he was ready to pledge his long-term future to the club and was subsequently “fobbed off” by Arsenal.

Song said he was sitting down to talk about a new, five year deal at Arsenal before Barca came calling and he could not turn down the biggest club in the world.

Song also said in the interview with the Sun that his departure was not down to any attitude problems.
