Liverpool snare long-term target

Liverpool have completed the signing of a long-term target subject to a medical.

The Anfield outfit have snared Nuri Sahin on loan from Real Madrid, beating off Arsenal to the Turkish midfielder.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said on Thursday night that the club were close to signing the 23-year-old and Liverpool have now confirmed the deal.

Sahin has struggled to settle at Real following his switch from Borussia Dortmund last summer and Jose Mourinho was willing to let him go out on loan so he can get first team football under his belt.

Sahin will become Rodgers' fourth signing of the summer for Liverpool.
