Uruguay international not subject of bid from Premier League club

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has not been the subject of a bid by a Premier League club according to Sky Sports.

Reports emerged that Manchester City had made a bid for the Uruguay international as he was a top target of Roberto Mancini are incorrect according to the website.

Godin is also thought to be a target of Liverpool but it was believed that Manchester City had lodged a £7.9million bid for the centre-half but despite City's inactivity in the transfer market so far, it is believed they have not lodged an inquiry to Atletico.
