Sought after striker will stay at his club

One of the most highly-sought after strikers in Europe has had bids turned down for him according to his club.

Robert Lewandowski impressed for Borussia Dortmund last season and for Poland at Euro 2012 and is thought to be high on Sir Alex Ferguson's transfer list before he signed Robin Van Persie.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich have also been linked with Lewandoski who scored 22 goals last season in Bundesliga with United rumoured to have lodged a £24million bid for him.

Rumours intensified when talks between the Pole and the club broke down over an extension to his contract which has two years left to run.

However, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has said the Polish international will remain at the club and bids have been turned down for the striker.
