    Sturridge hails Chelsea medics

Daniel Sturridge has praised the work of Chelsea's medical team and cites them as saving his Olympic dream.

The 22-year-old was close to pulling out of the Games three weeks ago after being diagnosed with meningitis but he made a stunning recovery to play a part in Team GB's warm-up friendly against Brazil on Friday.

The striker said: "It is a really difficult thing to get through and, without the help of the Chelsea doctor, my family and my girlfriend, it would have been even more difficult - I would not wish what I have had on my worst enemy."
