Barton To Train with Football League New Boys

He is known as the bad boy of English football but today QPR midfielder Joey Barton has confirmed he will train with League 2 newcomers Fleetwood Town.

Taking to the social networking site Twitter once again, the 29-year-old tweeted:

Looking forward to training with Fleetwood for the week. Will get a much needed sweat on.

Barton was left out of QPR's squad for their pre-season tour of Malaysia and will train with the Blue Square Premier champions on Thursday.

The controversial figure was sent off in QPR's last game of the season at Manchester City where he clashed with Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero. For his actions, he received a 12-match ban for the new season and was also stripped of the captaincy.

Barton will see himself link-up with striker Andy Mangan who is a close friend of the former Manchester City and Newcastle player.

Merseyside-born Barton went on to say: "Still have three years left at QPR. Exciting times for the club, which I intended to be a part of. Need to get some fitness in the meantime."
